Good evening lions and lionesses. I'm your host, Rafiki the mandrill coming to you live from his baobab tree somewhere in the serenghetti, and this is TLKN.
Happy new year and welcome to our special science feature for tonight.
THIS JUST IN FROM THE "ASTRONOMERS HAVE LOST THEIR MINDS" DEPARTMENT:
Scientists believe that there IS a shape to the universe. Once thought to be infinite, recent measurments of the universe tell scientists that it may be finite AND it might be shaped like a football.
Bees are our source for honey, and that incesant "Buzzing" sound they make. Most people will try to rid themeselves of an infestaion of bees as soon as possible, but some people wait too long, and that's a problem:
A south florida couple had a bee problem of the worst kind. Jesus Molina and his girlfriend had to evacuate their home due to an infestation in the kitchen wall of their aparment. Molina siad that the bees had been there TWO AND A HALF YEARS before they could not put up with them any longer, so they called professionals to handle the job. "So we're trying to, like, get rid of most of them, but without professional help we can't. So now we almost … They're biting me!'" Molina screamed, running from the home during an interview with reporters. Beekeepers extracted not one, not two, but THREE MILLION BEES from the apartment, anlong with a whopping 60 POUNDS OF HONEY.
Behold: The giant squid has finally been caught on tape!
At long last, the elusive giant squid has been caught on tape alive. Untill friday the 22nd, no existing footage/pictures of a live giant squid have been found. Thanks to some japanese ecological study team, they were able to hook a small (3 feet)squid, but it was still larger than any on previous record.
The bait: A smaller squid
The depth: around 350 meters below the surface
Thank you, lions and lionesses. That concludes tonight's special science broadcast. This is TLKN and I'm your host Rafiki the mandrill, urging you to stay safe, and SANE! Thank you and good night.

A football? Hmm....was someone watching too much sports channel while doing their science job?
Good thing that couple wasn't allergic to bees!
*disappointed* Do I HAVE to stay sane?

Good evening lions and lionesses, this is TLKN, and I'm your host, Rafiki the mandrill, live from his baobab tree. To all you anglers out there: BEHOLD! For the fish of your dreams HAS BEEN CAUGHT! The world record common Carp was hooked and landed on December the 17th 2006 by Dieter Markus Stein, fishing a German water and the weigh in of the fish was witnessed by 14 different people from local Carp fishing clubs. No word on if this monster has been set free again. Some people will do ANYTHING to get a fix... of video games. We all know of the European man who spent 80 grand obtaining a sony PS3, but would you be willing to DIE for a system? WARNING: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. 10 employees in cluding the host of their morning show, were suspended from work (at KDND-FM) when they hosted a contest, "Hold your wee for a Wii". [Name withheld], age 28, DIED after taking part in the contest, due to water intoxication. Contestants who took part in the contest were urged to see how much they could drink before having to go to the bathroom. Each contestant was given wo minutes to drink 8 oz. [225ml] of water and then given a ten minute break before drinking another. Witnesses say [name withheld] drank at least 2 GALLONS [7.5 litres] during the contest. Afterwards, she called in sick to work, and was found dead at her home five hours later. As the autopsy indecated, she died of water intoxication, a process in which drinking too much fluid upsets the body's balance of electrolytes, causing brain swelling, which leads to seisures, coma, or even death. [Name withheld] had been seen showing off pictures of her two sons and daughter, whom she was hoping to win the system for.And to round out our broad cast for the evening, TLKN will end on a happier note: Jan. 15, 2007, Georges, and georgette herbert celebrated their 79th anniversary, defending France's Romantic reputation. It is estimated over 1/3 of marriges end in devorce in france, but this couple was able to beat the odds. Percy and Florence Arrowsmith, a british couple, had previously set the world record for longest marrage, at 80 years Percy being 105, and Florence being 100. Sadly, florence died shortly after their 80th anniversary. The herberts are now one of the oldest couples alive. They do have children, their younest being 56, and their oldest being 68. In 1929, when the herberts tied the knot, they lived in Normandy france. Although they don not have pleasant memories of the wedding, they have opted to stay there. "The wedding ceremony was not a lavish affair. We were not rich. Said Georgette. "We lived a simple life," she said "A hard life." The two were married in a church, "Same as everyone else." Instead of wine, they had cider to drink, and for the meal, they had rabbit stew and prunes.Thank you lions and lionesses. This is TLKN, and I'm your host, Rafiki the mandrill urging you to stay safe, sane, and healthy. Good night.

Now that was some interesting news. Especially the water intoxication. I remember my science teacher talking about taking too much fluids.. You would've think one of the contestant might know about it. But I guess it's a rare thing to know? I'm not too sure, but I like the new update ;D

Good afternoon, lions and lionesses. This is TLKN and I'm your host, rafiki the mandrill, bringing you only 100% Au natural weirdness picked fresh from the live of people with too much time on their hands. We all know of the god of Emo (ANd famous writer of all things dark) Edgar Allan Poe, right? He was strange, but this is stranger: For the 58th straight year, a mysterious visitor has left Poe a birthday present on Friday. Ever since 1949, a person has been making trips to Edgar Allan Poe's grave site, and leaving a half empty bottle of cognac, and three red roses at the foot of his tomb stone. In 1993, a note was left at the grave saying "The torch will be past." from the original visitor. In 1998, another note was left, saying that the man has past away, and now the tradition has been past onto his sons. Crowds have been gathering trying to get a glimpse of the mysterious person, and last year they acctually tried stopping the person. This year though, they were well behaved, and managed only to get a glimpse of the person slipping away. Poe died when he collapsed in a tavern in 1849, at the age of 40.We all have squabbles with loved ones every once in a while, right? Check this... couple out: Chana and Simon Taub [of new york] have had a divorce, yet neither was willing to leave the house to the other. The solution? A judge has ordered a dry wall partition put up. Chana got the top floor, along with the second floor kitchen. Simon got the first floor living room and the second floor dining room. One child stayed with daddy, while the other three got to stay with mommy. And our final story for today: Behold, for the world's largest wine bottle arrived in New York yesterday. Weighing in at 585 kilograms, and at 1.8 feet tall, it's cork [valued at $3,500] kept 387 normal bottles of shiraz from thirsty mouths indefinatly. The owner, who also owns his own liquor store, has gotten offers of up to $100,000 U.S.D. It arrived in New york and was the centerpiece for the "G'day USA: Austrailia themed culinary show.. The bottle it's self was made in germany, and the cork was hand carved from a tree in Portugal. Five winmakers in the bottle's home country of austrailia got together and pooled their best shiraz grape resources together to make a single 2005 vintage, calling their collective vineyard "Five virtues". This bottle beats the previous world record of 175 regular bottles of wine.Thank you, lions and lionesses, this has been TLKN news, and I'm your host, Rafiki the mandrill, urging you to stay safe, sane, and busy [ ]. Thank you and good night.
