Yeah, he does kind of "talk" through the song, instead, doesn't he?

Mufasa doesn't sing in the special edition Yeah, I guess that's logical since James Earl Jones, as awesome as he is, really can't sing very well, plus no one would be able to imitate his voice convincingly. Mufasa sings a lot in Broadway though, he sings with the ensemble in Circle of Life, part of Morning Report, and he gets his own song, They Live in You, (essentially He Lives in You with a few words changed; the song is reprised later) and that's sung to Simba when he's talking about the Great Kings of the Past. I'd really recommend picking up the soundtrack, West End or Broadway version if you have an extra $20. (I guess that would be about 16 pounds or so, lol)

When I saw the show on Broadway, Samuel Wright (Sebastian in "The Little Mermaid") was playing Mufasa. He was excellent, and has a great singing voice! He was in the original Broadway cast, so I really recommend that version of the CD just to hear his vocals. Another one to listen for on the soundtrack is the orginal Simba, Jason Raize. Unfortunately, Jason died a few years ago, and someone else is in the role.

Tickets are pricey, but if you wait on line in that half price booth in Times Square, you might luck out.

I'm excited cause my aunt got me tickets for this summer! It's cool, cause she's a casting director, so it ain't that hard for me gettin' in! Just thought I'd share my joy, that's all.

I love LKoB, although I never seen it yet. But I might be going back to NYC this coming summer, and I just might get to see it! I have the Broadway soundtrack(that I listen to every day, I know all the songs by heart) and a Broadway Simba plushie(lucky find at a yard sale) I love all the songs, but my favorites would have to be: -Endless Night -Shadowland -They/He live(s) in you -Grasslands chant -One by one -Circle of life -JCWTBK -King of pride rock/Circle of life reprise
Just to name a few

I think the part with Scar wanting Nala to be his new queen would be a bit scary for the kids *lol* I listened to the song and I thought it was a little um... perverted.
