After several hours of searching, and not a single sign of Vitani anywhere, Simba decided to go check on Jamall and the young lioness cub. He really did need to find Vitani, as he wanted to gather as much information about the young cub as possible, but it was nearly impossible to track the ex-Outlander lioness down sometimes.
Simba casually made his way towards Jamall's den, thinking to himself as he went along.
"Jeez, why is it so hard to find someone when you really need them. I really could have used Vitani's help but it's like trying to find a cheetah in the highest grasslands. I sure hope Jamall has had more luck than I have, in getting some information out of that young cub." Simba thought to himself as he neared Jamall's den.
Simba reached the entrance of the quaint den that Jamall called home, peaking inside, and taking a quick look around. He spotted Jamall in the center of the den. Simba smiled as his eyes spotted the young lioness cub, nestled deep into Jamall's full mane. It always warmed his heart to see scenes like this. Simba slowly, and quietly, made his way into the den, as not to disturb the peaceful scene before him.
"Hey Jamall," Simba whispered, as he took a seat next to the younger lion. "I see that she's really taken a liking to you, huh?. How is she doing anyways?" He asked softly.
Simba noticed the discarded zebra leg.
"Ahh, so you got her to eat something? That's good. She's looking a little better already, being in your care. You really do make a good father, if I do say so myself Jamall." Simba stated, giving Jamall a friendly look.
He knew that Jamall had been a loyal member in his Pride for quite some time now, but had never seen him show any interest in any of the lionesses within the Pride. Completely clueless to Jamall's secret desire for his daughter Kiara, Simba decided to ask the question that had been on his mind for some time now, ever since this new cub came into the picture.
"Hey Jamall, forgive me for asking this, but do you ever plan on starting a family of your own? I mean, you've been a great member of this Pride for many seasons now, but you have yet to show any interest in finding a mate? Is there something wrong or are you just not ready for that type of thing? I can see by the way you're caring for this cub, that you'd make an outstanding father, and any of the available lionesses in this Pride would be lucky to have you as their mate."
Simba paused, not wanting to cross any un-forseen barrier of good taste with his fellow Pride Member. He just wanted to know what the future held for his lion friend. Simba looked down at the young lioness cub once more. He just couldn't help but admire her brilliant fur color and attractive eyes. It was more his fatherly instincts, but he could also sense something very special about this cub. Still, this feeling was quite foreign to him yet, and it would take time for him to realize what exactly this meant.

She's back. Jamall noted, a soft chuckle slipping from the oversized lion's muzzle as he felt the cub's small and warm body snuggle into his mane. She moved as silently as the wind, too... She'll make a fine huntress one day. He thought, gazing at the cub with a small smile on his muzzle.
His time spent so far with the cub had made him wonder where it had all gone wrong with his own plans to start a family. Before Kovu had shown his face in the Pride Lands, Jamall had fully intended to start a relationship with Kiara, and one day, ask for her paw in marriage. In fact, he had been planning on taking her on something of a date after she returned from her first hunt, to celebrate that important event in her life, and to reveal to her his feelings for her.
Unfortunately, that fell through when the staged 'Rescue' of Kiara took place, putting Kovu firmly in her good graces. He still maintained hope of being able to find a way to win Kiara's heart, but that hope didn't last long. Only a few short days after the rescue, Kiara was madly in love with Kovu, and as much as he despised that scrawny little punk, he couldn't bring himself to try anything that would put a end to Kovu and Kiara's relationship. It just wasn't who he was.
And so here he was now, without a mate, and slowly losing hope of ever finding a mate. Many of the lioness at Pride Rock were either too old or too young for him, and many of the lionesses around his age had some element of their personality that made it simply impossible for him to get along with them.
He was jolted from those thoughts when he heard Simba say his name, a few moments before the King sat next to him.
"Hey King Simba. She's doing fine... Still haven't gotten her to talk, though, but at least she's all right." He replied quietly.
Not long after his response, Simba asked him the one question that, to be honest, he didn't really want to answer. "Well, uh... It's..." Jamall began, then cut himself off. He paused a moment to collect himself, then tried to reply a second time. "I do plan on starting a family, and, well...*Sighs* I have looked for a mate, King Simba, and I had found a lioness that I desired immensely, but... I'm a little girl-shy at times, especially around females I like. By the time I mustered up the courage to make my feelings towards her known, she had fallen in love with another male. As much as I cared for and desired her, I couldn't bring myself to try to thrust myself into her love life. Other than her, I have found no lionesses that I have any interest in outside of simple friendship." He said, trying to be as honest as was possible without revealing to Simba that the lioness he had so deeply desired, and still desired, was in fact Simba's own daughter Kiara.
But she was Kovu's now, and as much as he may dislike the scrawny little ex-outlander, he had to respect the fact that Kovu and Kiara were married.

Simba listened intently to what Jamall was telling him. He could sense the bit of hesitation coming from his friend when it came to answering the burning question at paw. He nodded and payed close attention to everything that left Jamall's muzzle. Once his fellow Pride Member was finished speaking, Simba paused a moment before responding.
"Hmm, I see. I'm sorry to hear about your lost love, but don't let it get you down." Simba said, sporting a crafty grin as he continued. "Who knows, maybe that lion she fell in love with will leave the Pride and she'll be available again. You never know." he stated, giving Jamall a soft nudge with his fore paw.
Simba, of course, had no idea that Jamall was referring to his daughter. He merely figured that he was talking about one of the other lionesses in the pride, as many of them did have respective mates. He looked down at the sleeping, young cub once more for a brief moment, before returning his gaze back to Jamall.
"You know, I've told you the story about Nala and myself before right? How I...well, left The Pride Lands when I thought I caused my father's death? Well, I don't really tell anyone this, but even though Nala and I were very young at the time when I left, not a single day didn't go by, when I didn't think about her in some way, shape or form. She was always on my mind, and back then, I didn't know it, but that was probably because I truly was in love with her.: Simba stated, stopping for a moment to seemingly reflect upon some long lost thought. "To be honest Jamall, if I had come back to The Pride Lands, and found her with some other lion, I would have done whatever it takes to win her over. I mean, I don't want to seem...well, uncaring towards any lion that might have had the pleasure to be her mate before me, but truth be told, I can't imagine a single day without Nala in my life now. I wouldn't be the same without her."
Simba stopped once more, looking at Jamall with an understanding and somewhat serious look upon his muzzle.
"I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you really love this lioness and you think you could be a better mate to her than this other lion, you might be better off and try to let her know how you feel. Who knows, maybe she shares those feelings deep down as well."
Simba looked at Jamall with a warm smile now. He knew that this probably wasn't the advice a ruler of a Pride should be telling one of his Members, but he really was quite fond of Jamall and wanted him to be happy. He could sense that his words did come off, a bit awkward.
"Yeah, I know, not the advice you were expecting me to say, huh Jamall? Well, believe me, I don't want any unwanted trouble in my Pride, but I also care about my Pride Members and want them to all be happy. Always keep that in mind."
Simba sighed quietly as he gave another look at the young lioness cub.
"Well, I guess there's no point in me sticking around your den right now, as it doesn't appear that this young cub is doing much talking at the moment. I'll come by tomorrow and maybe by then, you'll have at least learned her name." Simba whispered, laughing quietly as he gave Jamall a quick nod before making his way out of the den.
"Now to try and find Vitani again.: Simba thought to himself as he made his way back to the heart of Pride Rock.

[Should we time jump to the evening(night) or does Jamall need anything to do before Taraji wakes up?]

[Go ahead and Time Jump [assuming it's Kosher with KM, that is!]; there's not much I can do with Jamall except for having him reflect upon what Simba said, and he can do that later. BTW, now we need a Kiara! lol. ]

[Aye, I'll bring in Sefu after the time-jump, unless you want me to bring him in now. I'm OK either way! I've already got a intro post mostly written up for him. (And don't worry 'bout Kiara unless she somehow becomes indispensable for plot advancement. No sense playing a character you don't want to play, after all! )]

[It's not that I don't want to play her. You know I love Kiara but... well if I would play her I think Taraji will have a lot of effect on my role play and Kiara might end up ditching Kovu and build a family with Jamall and Taraji. Ok I will just make the time jump for a few hours until Taraji wakes up. if you have nothing in the meanwhile I guess both have slept a bit or not?] Taraji still felt a bit stiff in her muscles due the long journey but she was a bit refreshed from sleeping. It was nice and warm and Taraji snuggled against Jamall. She yawned and opened the eyes. The den was darker then last time Taraji woke up. The sun outside must have set. Even tough Taraji felt a bit thirsty and hungry again she was happy about just having someone laying next to her who kept her warm. Taraji remembered all the cold nights in the savanna sleeping under a tree or at some rock and freezing the whole night. This was one reason she later traveled at night. She never slept as well as today on her whole journey. Where would mother be now? she thought. A silent tear dropped on her paw. She still felt sad about loosing her mother but she noticed already that she might never meet her again. Even if she did not yet understand why her mother had to be taken by this strange creatures she knew that her mother wanted her to look forward and not back. But that is so hard mom. She dried her eyes. She did not want Jamall to see her crying. Her mother had told her to be strong and she really intended to be that. Is this really the place of my dreams mom? Taraji really hoped so due even pretending to be strong and keep on going the last month she just wished every day to rest and not have to walk all day and night anymore. If this was the place of her dreams or even a much better place for her to stay she would be happy, or not? Taraji closed her eyes again and imagined how it could be here. Playing with other cubs maybe? Having someone caring for her? She smiled at all these happy thoughts. That would be soooooo nice!

For many, the sight of a Black Panther in the Pride Lands would be bizarre at best, cause for alarm at worst. Sefu Hishima knew this, but he didn't care. He had a friend at Pride Rock, and he was determined to pop up and pester that friend of his for a bit. Living alone in the jungle was a lonely existence, and after having been without company for a month, he decided it was time for a change.
Now only four hundred meters away from Pride Rock and closing in at a jogging pace, Sefu was at the proverbial 'Point of Safe Return.' If he kept going, he ran the risk of a overprotective lioness jumping him, and while he was a little bigger and a lot stronger than the average lioness, he knew that if you fought one, you fought 'em all. And taking on a entire Pride of angry lions and lionesses was not very high on his list of things to do.
But if he turned around and booked it back to the border, he could probably slip out without being noticed. However, Sefu was a stubborn panther, and he was determined to not spend the night without at least seeing the face of a old friend.
Still, to prevent the possibility of his courage waning, the panther accelerated to a light run, and quickly closed the distance to Pride Rock. He soon arrived, and once there, he began to scurry towards his objective... Only to realize that he had no idea where his objective was, since he had never been to Pride Rock before. "Oh snap..." He muttered, freezing in mid-step, and looking around, trying to figure out in which den did his friend live.
Jamall woke up several minutes after Taraji, and announced his return to the land of the conscious with a loud yawn. After stretching out as much as was possible without moving Taraji, whom he assumed was still asleep, he finally turned his gaze down to the cub. Her eyes were closed, and upon her muzzle was a... Smile? Well, at least something's got her happy! He thought, her smile becoming infectious and causing a smile of his own to blossom across his face. "Hey kiddo." He said quietly, after realizing she was indeed awake. "You ready to talk yet?"

Taraji winced a bit as Jamall started talking and got her out of her thoughts. She opened the eyes and her smile shrank a bit due him talking and having his eyes on her still made her shy. A few moments she shyly looked with her big crystal white eyes into his blue orbs. Then she carefully nodded slightly but crawled a bit deeper into the mane. It was one thing to have sleep next to this lion but a completely other thing to be watched by him or even talk to him. The reality did not go with her dream. She was far to shy to be as outgoing as she was in her dreams. At least with someone she did not know very well.

"So that's a yes, then." Jamall mused, smiling as Taraji snuggled into his mane. "You know, though, you don't have to talk unless you want to." He added, moving his head slightly and giving the cub a fatherly nuzzle over the top of her head.
Meanwhile, Sefu was looking about nervously, half-hoping for someone to amble by so he could ask for directions, half-hoping no-one would stumble by so he wouldn't get in trouble for trespassing on Pride territory.

Taraji plucked up a bit courage and even still shy she opened her small muzzle but nothing came out. It took her a few moments to get a very shy tone out. "I... it.... it's oooo...ok..kkk.....kay." she whispered. Her voice was very soft and cute even if a bit low because she was whispering. Her eyes still looked shy and unsteady into the blue orbs above her.

Jamall paused for a very brief moment before offering her a soft and warm smile. "All right then. Could you tell me your name, little one?" He asked quietly, trying his best to make his voice match the low whisper she was speaking in. As he spoke, he gently wrapped both paws protectively around her, to make her feel safer, as if it'd help her feel more comfortable around him.

"I.. I'm... my.. mo.. mother... na... name... named me..." Taraji started to ease a bit but she felt a bit embarrassed saying her name. She was not used to talk to anyone but her mother. She leaned a bit against one of the big paws and looked down on her paws. "Ta... ra... ji." she continued shy.

"Taraji. Ta-ra-ji... Your mother gave you a very beautiful name, Taraji." Jamall finally replied, repeating her name twice and admiring the way it rolled off his tongue. "I told you my name, didn't I?" He asked, hoping to further ease her out of her shell. Though considering how he had never had to ease anyone out of their shell before, he was certainly 'winging it'!

"Ja...Jamall?" she replied shy and her crystals turned to his orbs again. Her glimpse was as if her eyes were fearfully asking if she made a mistake.
