(Geez i missed a lot of action but i read through it) As soon as the violence started I was among the vampire's charging to kill the rebels. I got control of myself before i could do anything stupid. I was standing right behind Tobias. My fangs were fully extended and i knew that my eyes had become the pure black that vampire's eyes get when excited by the prospect of blood. I was calm now but still watching the humans. One of the water balloons had hit a vampire next to me and some of the silver had touched my skin. I had terrible burns on my arms but they would heal. Suddenly i saw the official who had spoken against vampires. Since i had spoke for the vampires before i felt obliged to do it again. "You say that God shunned us. That we are abomonations. Is it not possible that we are just the next level up on the food chain. Is it not possible that we like you were put here for a reason." I snarled him and some of my foriegn accent started to show as it did when i got angry. "THIS WORLD DOES NOT BELONG TO HUMANS" I roared at him. "THE WORLD BELONGS TO ALL OF US WHO INHABIT IT!!" I shouted out. My small speech was met by many cheers from the vampires and some of the humans. (Man is this getting political. It's all about rights now. Funny huh)

Tobias turned and walked up to Nick, a small frown masking his face. He placed a hand on his friend's shoulder, to gain his attention. "I agree with you Nick, but tread carefully. With tensions running this hot, anything could set off the proverbial bomb. And I've shot enough of my own kind for one night, I'm really not looking forwards to shooting more. Come on, let's go talk to Senator Kapono, I'm sure he'll want to discuss this with you and your people. He probably has a lot to apologize for."
Indeed, Tobias was right. Kapono, now walking amongst the crowd with four of his most trusted Marines, [save for Tobias, who had become a close friend of his] was beelining straight for the last Vampire to have spoken, that Nicholas Kahn fellow. He weaved his way through the crowds, until he came to him and Tobias. "Mr. Kahn, right? Come with me, we've got some wrinkles to smooth out, I think... And we need to get you a bandage, or some blood... Something."

I nodded to Tobias and followed him. I then followed the senator. "A bottle of O-neg would be very nice." I said. I would heal quickly. I was so old that it took almost no time at all. I followed the senator into a small room. There was a table and a couple chairs. I sat down and waited for the senator to speak.

Kapono nodded, then turned to Tobias. "Sergeant, fetch the man his drink, would you?" He asked, giving Carver a smile and nod. Tobias turned and sped off to follow his orders, while Kapono led Kahn into the back room.
He took the seat across the table from Kahn, and removed his glasses. He took a moment to wipe them off, then he replaced the gold-rimmed spectacles on his face. "I wanted a chance to offer... Never mind this formal stuff. I wanted to apologize for what happened out there. I think it's safe to say that we need to search everyone, and not allow anything silver or garlic inside the convention. Again, I'm sorry Nick. You lost a lot of good people today." The Senator said, his voice sincerely compassionate and apologetic.
Tobias strode in with a bottle of O-Neg, and set it down on the table in front of Nick. "Here you go." He said quietly, at the same time setting a bottle of Sprite down in front of the Senator, who was quick to open the bottle of soda and down nearly half the contents in one swig.

"I accept you apology" I said. I felt myself relax and as i did my fangs retracted and my eyes turned back to their natural color. I thanked Tobias as he handed me the bottled blood. I opened it and took a long swig. I instantly felt some of my energy return. "So will you work on passing this bill for us vampires. As you can see we desperately need it" I told him a bit sadly. We did need that bill passed. It would save us vampire's a lot of trouble.
(Sorry G2G. Night Jiang)

Kapono nodded and took a PDA out of his pocket. He tapped on the screen a few times, pulling up some notes he had made. "Yes, but it'll take at least a week to pass. In the meantime, I've ordered the 134rd USMC Mechanized Infantry and the 313th USMC Armored to deploy in New Orleans. They started arriving this morning, and are mobilizing to launche decisive strikes against the mobs of Anti-Vampire militiamen crowding the streets. We will fight your enemy in the day, if your people will strike at them in the dead of night. We aren't supposed to do this, but there's a shipment of weapons and armoured vests sitting in a group of ten Five-ton trucks at the back of the convention center. It's meant for your people, the vests are proven to stop a sniper rifle round, and pretty much any wooden stake or silver sword, no matter how sharp. Take your people and get them equipped, there are enough vests and firearms for at least a thousand people." Kapono said, sliding the PDA across. The PDA just so happened to contain the codes to unlock the crates the trucks contained, granting Nick's people acess to armor and weapons with which they can defend themselves without arousing suspicion. "And Nick... You didn't get this from me. This is strictly off the record. All right?"
Tobias crossed his arms and stood alongside the table, listening in. "Nick, while you and your people are moving the trucks, we've got a pair of Abrams tanks and a squad of AH-1 Supercobra attack helos standing ready to defend you. You'll also have my squad and another squad of infantry to back you up."

[[ Statement: I knew this would involve a fair amount of fighting, but it's getting rediculous. I'll retract my rebel strike post, if it means moving this thread away from a silly all-out COD4 style era. The National guard is cool, but now the US marines are going to invade the city, protecting in effect Vampire marines.
Conclusion: This thread will fail again like all our SW rp's have, now that vampire forces will in effect be waging Iraq-insurgent wars against the rest of anti-vampire humanity. ]]

(Yeah I think that we should tone down on the fighting a bit. )
I nodded my thanks to the Senator and Tobias and then went to tell my king the plan. He himself had not attended the convention. It would have been to much of a risk. He instead had staid in a small hotel just at the city limits. I went straight to the hotel and up to the king's room. After a serious of questions i was let in.
The king stood by a window looking down at the city. From where he stood he would have had an eagle eye view of the convention. I walked up beside him and looked out the window to. I towered over the kings. He was about five six compared to my six feet. "Did you see what happened?" I asked him. He nodded and turned to me.
"You did well in your speech." He said looking at me. "I was right to choose you." His brown eyes showed the most warmth that had probably had in five hundred years as he spoke to me.
"Thank you my king" I said and bowed my head. I then relaid what the senator had told me.
The king pondered it for a minute. "I think it would be better without any human military men there." He said finally.
I nodded. That was exactly what i had been thinking. I would have to contact Tobias tomorrow night to tell him that his services would not be needed. The king then dismissed me. I bowed deeply and made my way out of the hotel and started walking down the street enjoying the night. I was surprised when i ran into the man Rafael. He must have recognized me. I waited to see what he would do.

Raf was beaming, from ear to ear. Already, 10 copies of the video of the summit had been sent and recieved by the largest news orginizations in america, all willing to pay very, very large sums for such exclusive and good video. Dateline and MSNBC had been ravenous for details, of which he provided. Now that the foreign bank account he'd set up had already been fattened by all the payments, he wondered what he might do with it all. Although, after Katrina, new orleans wasn't a "liesure outlet" for much of anything. The 10th and final copy, he had sold to KENS-5, his local TV news network he was fond of, back in San Antonio. His relatives promised to record the report when they delievered.... Along with the friday morning dance the weatherman always did. He chuckled. A dancing weatherman. How many other stations did that!?
His good mood was spitted, the minute he saw the vampire from before. "I'd sit farther out of throwing range next time, buddy." Raf said, walking right passed, but still seeing the powdered silver burns on his arm. "That stuff's dangerous, you know." He called out over his shoulder in a friendly manner, but did not stop.

I let out a low growl. I stood stalk still for a couple seconds then turned around. "What exactly is your problem." I growled at him angrily. I didn't like the way he treated me when i had done nothing to deserve the treatment. He was amazingly rude and arrogant. "I have done nothing to you and yet you treat me as though i had already tried to rip out your throat." I growled at him.

"It's nothing personal. I just can't stand ANY vampire. When you hate them all, it's much faster and easier than picking and choosing and risking." He said over his shoulder again, but not stopping his brisk pace. "Bad child-hood memories. Y'know, the kind that change you for life." He said, before rounding a corner. "And next he's gonna tell me it's not his fault, I shouldn't be that way, and that he's different...." Raf thought, with an exaggerated eye-roll.

"I can understand bad child hood memories." I told him a bit sadly. "I knew vampires existed since i was ten." I said. "My father was a gambler and he went to far and bet me on something. He lost and i was given a new father." I said shuddering. "My new "Father" was a vampire. He raised me. He wasn't shy about being a vampire in front of me. He fed and killed right before my eyes. He even fed off me from time to time. I was his prisoner until i was twenty five. Then another vampire, an older and stronger one, took me from him. This vampire brought me over." I said looking away. "I know better than you the horrors of having vampires around you all the time as a child. I may now be a vampire myself but i will never forget what was done to me." I said. He could blame anything he wanted on a bad childhood but it couldn't have been worse than mine.

It was then he realized he was talking to an empty street. A moment later, Raf ran back around the street, flat out and not looking very happy anymore. He did not scream, he did not look frightened, he did nothing else. "Vampire-hunting mob at 3 o'clock." He simply said, not yelling. Raf ran for good reason:
1.) Being seen on the same empty street with a vampire in the middle of nowhere did not bode well
and
2.) Recruiter squads were known for lynching non-convertee's.
From his estimate, there were almost 100+ people, waving weapons no doubt jury-rigged with silver, or garlic. They were about a block away, headed in this direction. Raf did not see the vampire run, but only stood where he was. Raf was no fool; he knew when to pick his battles. It was then that fate shone on him. An old, decrepit dodge charger sat on the side of the road, covered in wood, and debris. Raf kicked in the window, had his knife out, and opened the door. His hot-wire skills were very much gone; the car groaned to life almost 2 minutes later, when the crowd finally rounded the corner he'd just run by. "No time to stay, no time to die...." He mumbled to himself, turning the lights on and shifting it into gear. It groaned, lurched once, and then sputter to a halt. "****!!" He yelled, kicking the under-dash. A mis-connected wire hit, and the car reignited, ready to go. "yes!!" He yelled, looking into the rear-view mirror. People were running his direction, and screaming angrilly. "Gotta go guys." He said, waving out the mirror then hitting the gas pedal.
