"Rafael." Raf said, calmly. "Rafael Zamora." He repeated, taking a glad sip of his drink, and proceeding to ignore the vampire, who was clearly at his patiences' end, figuring it was best to not provoke him, purposefully or accidentally.

I nodded. "Nice to meet you" I said but not sincerely. I took another sip of my drink and thought about the big convention tomorrow. We ,meaning the vampires, were having a huge meeting tomorrow to talk about all the anti vampire organizations. We needed to find a way to stop them since the government wasn't really taking care of it. I wondered if this man was here for the convention. He didn't seem like he would be but anything is possible. "So what brings you here" I asked him.

"Helping with the recovery. Going through previously-sunken houses, and checking for bodies." He said, holding up a hand with 3 fingers, his thumb, index, and part of the middle-finger covered in flourescent orange paint. "Orange cross on the door means there are dead inside. Orange check-mark means all clear." He said, shuddering as he remembered the stench and horrible look of bloated and dead bodies, trapped in the houses they could not escape from.

I nodded in understanding. "Well i guess that makes sense" I said and sipped my drink. I looked around the bar just to make sure everything was running smoothly.

The TV came on, with news. Several people posing as relief workers had just lead a strike on a large congregating point for vampires; a big building filled with makeshift crypts for them all to sleep in. Raf looked over at the bartender, who was already ready to kill him right there. "Not me?" He asked, shrugging and thinking he'd soon be attacked.

I glared at the screen and then at the man sitting beside me. D@mn it we needed to figure a way to stop these attacks. I looked at the man and saw how many vampires wanted to attack him. I didn't want any trouble. If i sent him out a vampire would most likely follow him. "Come with me to my office." I ordered him in hopes that he would see it was for his own safety.

"Right. So you can kill me?" He asked, standing. He walked behind, the vampire, ready to yank out the Deagle at a second's notice. It was already c0cked and loaded, all he needed to do was pull the trigger.

I snarled at him my fangs fully extended. I was done trying to protect his sorry @$$ and be the good samaritan. "Get out of my bar" I yelled at him. I didn't even care if he paid or not. As long as he was far away from me it didn't matter. He was asking for trouble and he was going to get it soon if he didn't leave right now.

He grinned in a knowing manner, tossed a $20 onto the bar, and dashed out the door. A half a second later, out went 2 vampires. There were two loud hisses, sounds of a scuffle, and then two VERY loud "BAM!!!"-'s, followed by agonized hiss-screeches. Noone else dared to follow, realizing this human, while not directly guilty, knew had to handle himself, and would make quick work of those who followed him. He escaped without further hassle.

I sighed and shook my head as the two wounded vampires came back in. "Oh no." I told them and pointed to the exit. "Get out of my bar" I told them sternly and they turned around and left without any trouble. I shook my head and sighed. What an interesting turn of events. I couldn't help but think that there was more to this Rafael. I shook my head and walked to my office. I went in and closed the door. I then sat down on the couch and rubbed my aching temples soothingly.
I decided that i would leave the bar in the hands of my second and go follow this Rafael. no sooner had i thought this then my second walked in. "Want to follow him" She asked me. I nodded. "I'll take care of things." She said. I nodded my thanks and left to follow the man.
I picked up his trail easily. I then followed it and soon found him. I trailed him to see what he would do.
(Hey Raf is your guy with one of the anti vamp organizations.)

[[ No, I decided not to have him end up with the nazis after all. ]]
Raf hit another bar, where he could drink in piece. Wandering throught the door, he passed a sign that read "NO VAMPIRES 10:30-11:30 PM. NO EXCEPTIONS." It was already 11:20, and the place was rapidly emptying-- The crowds mainly wearing all-white shirts, featuring the same picture of a B&W hand, clutching a wooden steak in a threatening fashion. It was not seen what the target was, since the view was looking up, but it had been adopted as the official "Anti-Vampire" slogan for the anti-vampire association. Raf passed them all, turning down several offers for another, and then cursing a man who cursed him out, for being a "Leech-Hugger".
Raf sat down at the bar with an exasperated slump, which was something the human owner picked up on immediately. "Yeah, I know. They're all a little over the top." He said, sliding Raf a glass of Jack Daniels, when he ordered it. "Tell me about it. I just want to drink in piece. I don't hate them yet, but I'm starting to. I got chased out of one of "Their bars by two of 'em, since I guess the owner was looking for some excuse to start a fight. They didn't get me; the judge took care of it." Raf said, taking his first sip as the clock struck 11:25. The bartender, eager to hear of the story, slid him a mug of foster's while he re-told the ordeal.

I waited until 11:30 since that was the only time vampire's were aloud in the bar Rafael had chosen. I then slipped in and sat down. I did it silently so that Rafael wouldn't notice me. Vampires have that way of moving when they want to. No one can hear them unless they want to be heard.
I just sat there and watched Rafael. I looked away whenever he turned my direction. I could have just made him tell me everything by playing my vamp tricks and messing with his head but i didn't do that often. It wasn't exactly nice.

"Well, it was fun having you along...." The man behind the counter said, shaking Raf's hand. "Good to be along. I'll be back around the same time tomorrow, a little earlier." Raf said, placing his fee on the table again, and then walking out before the man had time to produce change. He had spent more time entertaining the obviously bored bartender and another, than actually drinking; his senses, though slightly muddled, were in much better shape than if he had drank the entire time. He walked out into the street, looking up and down the empty lanes, filled with garbage and debris. He walked the hundred or so feet to his car, got in, and drove off.

As Rafael got into his car and drove i followed by air. I levitated above it and followed him to wherever he was going.

~53 seconds later~
The car drove by a very much assault-team looking formation of people, armed with rediculously varied and decorated (Obviously for display) swords, no doubt made of silver. Also were the stereotypical pitchforks, and burning bundles of thatch; this crowd meant business. At it's head, dressed like the d00d from Van Helsing, was a man screaming anti-vampire rhetoric.

I saw the anti vampire group and immediately floated down to the opposite side of the car. They seemed like they were for real. I didn't want them to see me. I had a bad feeling about what would happen if they did. Right at that moment Rafael turned and saw me floating outside his car.

Raf saw him, and then deliberately turned to see where the crowd was. When he turned back, he was wearing a big grin, and made a "Slitting" motion with his finger, across his neck, and then pointed at the floating vampire, cackling wildly.

I glared at Rafael and then made the same slitting motion. I was definitely going to report the use of silver against me when it was unnecessary. I then flew straight up into the clouds and out of the view of the Anti vamp members. I then kept flying right back to my bar. I stormed in and immediately dialed the police. I told them about the incident and described the car and Rafael. They told me they'd take care of it and contact me when they had more info.

The only police officer on duty crossed his "t"-'s, dotted his "i"-'s on the incident report--- then spat his gum on it, wadded it up, and threw it away. He picked up a doughnut flown in from a FEMA caravan, dipped it in a white mug (with a B&W hand clutching a wooden steak on it) and began to enjoy the glazed goodness of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. "Filthy leeches..." He muttered, stuffing it in his already grossly over-inflated face, which had several other kinds of junk-food on it.
~The next evening~
For the vampires (the 1,315 that were left, now that 75 had mysteriously died in freak accidents in the week before) the "Day" of the Anti-Vampire defense summit had arrived, and the moment the sun went down, vampires of all genders, shapes, and sizes took flight to the air and roof-tops, heading in 1 direction. Raf was in his "house", which was actually just a large tuff-shed, that looked like a house. It was a very small "House", the entire first-floor being the size of a normal living-room, and the second "story" (Really a secondary storage ledge) was where his bed was. The door was still a door, covered with a scavenged blind he'd found. The advantage of such a small abode was of course, it was very mobile, and could be set down pretty much anywhere. The disadvantages, though major, were not present in the city. It was one of the only cool, bug/smell-free places in the city; Raf liked his comfort. His bed was only a military-esq spartan bunk-bed, only 2 feet off the ground. A rudementary bed-side table, was nearby. Both were under a window on the second story; he did not need it; he had fallen asleep early, and had since been dozing, now.

I had labeled this Rafael as one of our top priorities to deal with. I contacted the king of my state right away and told him about the incident with Rafael. He assured me that this man would be at the summit. I wanted to deal with him. One for using the silver against me when there was no threat and two for trying to kill me by alerting those anti vampire members. I tried not to worry about him as made my way to the summit which was being held in a large building near the center of the town.
