Its been 14 years sense the first film and 4 years sense the last one. The trilogy has shown to be very succesful even now more then ten years after the first release. DVD/VHS are still selling in a massive rate, more then all other old Disney films combined. TLK2 made on its own over 300 million in the video market and has ever sense hold the record for the highest grossing direct to video animated movie of all time. The Lion King is still the highest grossing traditional animated film in history at the box office and holds also the record for the biggest Fan base for any Disney movie. This proves that there might still be a future for a futher sequel. The problem for a further production is that a New Generation of young animators has replaced most of the old ones from the Disney Renaissance and has moved on to newer ideas. Pixar has also been left with most of the control of future animations and if so the only future for TLK is 3-D. But TLK is hardly a thing that Disney would simply forget. There are rumors going around that Disney will study the release of TLK on the Blu-ray-Disc to see if theres any future for a further TLK film. So If the profits are right Disney might still be interested in TLk. But sense Pixar has completed its future plans for the next 4 years there shouldnt be any plans to start the production of the Fourth film.

I hope they make a 4th, I would hate to see the series die! Still so many questions to be answered...

dose that mean could be a balto movie too every time there a new lion king there a new balto ^.6 The problem with that is, it's not only been 4 years since a new TLK film, but it's also been 4 years since a new Balto film. Although, I would love another Balto film, I think the chances are very slim. But it's not impossible, I'm hoping for TLK on Blu-Ray first, I'll save my money for when TLK SE is re-released next year. (Disney re-releases films every 5 years). I myself, didn't care for 1 and a half though, I just didn't really get a feel from it like I did the other 2. I want to see TLKSA in movie form though.

For me, 1 1/2 was good for laughs, but it wasn't great like the other TLK films.

Why is it so unlikely... it's only been 4 years since the last one... and it would make good money! I think Disney/Pixar would be silly not to!

Well, I don't want TLK 4 to have excessive humor either, like all new Disney films...

the first two disney movies had a message to viewers but the lion king 1 and a half is kind of pointless. i hope they would put a message into a forth one.

Well, I don't want TLK 4 to have excessive humor either, like all new Disney films... That was the problem with TLK 1 1/2, I expected it to be TLK, with a few fill ins, instead I got 80 minutes worth gags. They were good, but it lacked why I love the first 2, and that was the fact that it was serious. TLK 1 1/2 would be serious for 1 second, I almost turned it off because it made me mad.
