Quoting Mufasa: "All the great kings of the past..." And unless Scar's great loss of sanity at the end of TLK 1 counts, he ain't no great king. You are wrong! Just read this statement: every prime number is odd. However, it doesn't mean that every odd number is prime. Here we see the same thing: every great king is star, but Mufasa didn't say only great kings. So we have no right answer to this question, we can only speculate. We don't precisely know how lions become stars. *laughing* I have other ideas where Scar went. Someplace really hot, and I don't mean the beach. Ou... Knarrly I can discuss this point with any one endlessly, I like to do this We don't know much about TLK world. May be they even have no HELL. And tell me where should we place Sarabi and Nala? They are not kings, but - queenes. Should we put em into Someplace really hot, and I don't mean the beach

Well, as I've argued before, Scar wasn't *really* King. He stole the title. Really, Simba was the King the entire time, they just did not know he was still alive. Scar got the crown assuming Simba was dead. Since Simba was alive, the whole reign was a farce, right? Think of two alternate scenarios: 1 being that Scar DID kill Simba. If the lionesses had found out, he still would have his title stripped of him. The other scenario being if Scar had told the truth that he never saw Simba die. Then he would STILL not be King...the lionesses would be out searching for Simba. So if Scar was never King, truly, then he shouldn't get a place in the stars. As for Scar being in the hot place....since he never was King, he certainly did not behave. Sarabi and Nala were good. But, then again, it all depends on what they all believed, and that's getting into religion.

In theory, Scar was just a poser.

Scar got the crown assuming Simba was dead. Since Simba was alive, the whole reign was a farce, right? Let me write for you a little story, Knarrly. You know in France there was three big dynasties: Capetian house, Valua house, Bourbon house. (Didn't found how to write in English this names properly, but I think you understand me) We know interesting story. A story of two brothers... The elder one was stupid and couldn't really be king, but he was elder son of Philip the Fair (Philip was handsome). Younger son Philip V was smarter, but younger. So he would never be king were it not for... For his mother-in-law! She killed not only Louis X, but his son too! However, she only thought that his son died. Capetian major-domo exchanged the children. And Pilip V became the France king not "right" king. Many years later everyone would know that rightful king is alive, but... King is someone who rules a country. The same situation we see here in TLK. Scar was the king and nothing you can do about this (bad king, but KING!)

I see both your points. I agree with Simba that Scar definately was the king. Even though Simba was still alive, Scar was the ruler for that time, which did make him king, but I agree with Knarrly that he shouldn't have a place in the stars.

Killing each other for power even brothers and sisters is normal for "royalkind". Shakespeare tried to show this. Daughter of Philip the Fair killed her own husband Eduard the second (just gave an order to kill him and with collaboration with his son Eduard the third).
And, Tani (member of the month - deserve to be a star), you think that Scar don't deserve to be a star. However, do you know something about forgiveness? Even Jesus forgave Pilat, so I think Mufasa forgave Scar, and they both became stars.

I'm all for forgivness if there is chance for repentance, but there wasn't really any sign that Scar would repent after all the evil things he did.

May be Scar asked Mufasa for forgiveness in heaven? And Scar repented there? If I were Mufasa I would forgive him, 'cause my son is alive, his son will be the king and he were my bro. Don't you think the same TANI?

Not really; I might not have quite have the same out look on things, not having a sibling, but it's a little more difficult to forgive someone so closely related to you, who betrayed you straight out and actually killed you.

I have no siblings too. However, I think that everyone has a chance of forgiveness. I think that whole second movie is a forgiveness of Scar by Mufasa and outlanders by Simba and Zira by Kiara. As Jesus said: "There are not bad people, just bad situations" (don't know how this phrase looks in english, sorry, but the point is the same)

I have a sibling, and I must say, being betrayed by somone so close to *HURTS.* If I were Mufasa, I would have wiped scar out. (Picture some one VERY close to you [mom/dad/friend/ect.] just betraying you like that. Hurts, dosent it?)

If Scar did repent to Mufasa in the afterlife I think Mufasa would probably have forgiven him. I mean if you think about it, Scar didn't cause any damage that couldn't have been repaired, other than killing Mufasa. Being the great king that he is, I think Mufasa understood that and would have forgiven Scar for killing him (after all, I'm sure he knew that being King came with some self-sacrifice, although he had no idea how big). I think that since the Hot Place would be to pay if Scar wasn't forgiven, and since he's a great and understanding King, Mufasa would probably forgive him in the end.

I don't know.... No matter how evil a thing my kids did, I would still be able to forgive them. The same with my brother. He's my blood.
Now if my husband screwed up, that's different! *lol*
