Yeah, but if you want good seats, you have to cough up a lot of dough. When I saw TLK on Broadway a few years ago in NYC, It ran me $85 a ticket for orchestra. Prices are a lot higher now.
The Tarzan tickets I bought for Sierra and I (ONE MORE WEEK!!!!!!!) were regular price $111.50 for side orchestra. I only paid $76.50 because I had a coupon. But, if I wanted middle orchestra, it's over $200 a person! Because of the prices, I cannot go too often.
*sigh* My son is already pestering me to go see RENT, but I'm trying to tell him I want him to wait 2 more years. (He's 11 now, but RENT has a lot of adult content in it, and even though he's seen most of the film production, I still have to fast forward through scenes....like the strip club, which thank goodness is not on Broadway, and the entire La Vie Boheme song, which he gets mad everytime I have to do.)

Good call, Knarrly. Yeah, I'd definitely say any kid you wouldn't let see the whole movie should most definitely stay away from the production...*"Contact" >_<* 100% with you on that. The Catscratch club scene isn't in the show? Where do they set the Out Tonight song then...?

From what I've heard, they only reference the club, but do not show scenes there. I'll have to see it on Broadway, though, to find out what they do instead. Maybe they do it mostly in Mimi's apartment? That part was my biggest concern. The rest of the movie kind of made me uneasy about him seeing, as well, seeing as the main point of the story dealt with AIDS and such. But, I'm a big Broadway nut, and I'm dying to see it. So, I'll just wait until he's a bit older, and more capable of understanding.
I just worry, though, after hearing his friends talk about what they're allowed to watch. I took a bunch of kids on a field trip, all around my son's age, and they were all talking about having seen the "R" version compared to the "UNRATED" version of certain horror movies. And I was "horrified"...I just can't believe what kids are allowed to watch. I remember not being able to watch PG-13 movies until I was actually 13. *lol* There were a few exceptions made, if my mom saw it and approved. I remember this huge argument over "Dirty Dancing", and being forced to wait (or rather sneaking to watch it on my own *lol*)

Yeah, same here...I'm in one of those households like yours, lol. Not that I'm a rebellious cub or anything, all I've done is watch RENT and the Rocky Horror Picture Show (which I kind of wish I hadn't! >_<). But yeah, I agree about kids these days (whoa, I sound like an old person--almost like you ). Everybody else in third grade was watching Austin Powers while I was, well, still on Pokemon. But I think it really does have an impact on how you grow up to be. Things like that do kind of turn me off, even Rent to a small degree. That's one of the reasons I love TLK so much...it's just so innocent and carefree, so perfectly G-rated. RENT is actually coming to my town soon, unfortunately I can't go because it's the week of our school musical... >_< I'd love to see it too though!

Whenever I see a show, I always buy the cheap seats like $30. In San Francisco, it's cheaper to go on a weekday (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) or Sunday, but Fridays and Saturdays, be prepared to shell out some more cash.
