Probably not. Other then the feeling of friendship between them, I don't think that they felt anything else. And yeah, it was kind of creepy with Zazu going on about a future marriage between Simba & Nala when they were still just cubs.

Well, lets say it with other words. I think that their path of love was already set by them at this time. But being kids they did not have any attachment to "Love" or stuff. It was kind of love bot more the love of playmates. (She was more like the best buddy to him.) But you cannot completly refuse that he had some kind of feelings for her even at this age. I mean feelings more than normal friendship that would have been between 2 boys. She was special for him. As a buddy but also as a girl. You can see that in verious szenes like where he protected her. His sense of responsibility and his will to protect her was already set in his cub ages. Even without being already promised to each other they would have ended being married at the end (even without simba running away). The reaction of Simba and Nala about Zazus claim of marriage is a normal reaction kids show at this topic. Being married or "being together" is a rather embrassing thing for kids. They see that as something that is gross because they are not matured enough to understand this. To get to your point, I think it is exactly the same as with bambi, even if not this outgoing obviously. That there ever was love inside them can be proved by the Szene they actually find out that they love each other. I don't think that Nala would have done bill and coo with Simba if he would not have been Simba. And for Simba... well the love made him recorgnize her. Remembering even this small hints (like she beat him the same way as she did as cub) shows that he was still thinking a lot about her and never forgott her. This are all signs of true love. Well thats at least my experience of life and also my opinion on this story.

I think heck yeah he liked her, and she did too. He was probably going through the "Eww! Girls are icky!" stage; some kids reject girls more, especially when they like 'em.

Generally thinking, I think Simba may have a crush on Nala. For the cubs, both Nala and Simba shared a strong connection bond. They definitely had a more serious friendship and both of them got along very well. In regards to the scene where Zazu mentions about them getting married, pretty much like what Lodrill said, they typically refuse. They're young and most of the time, the girls will pick on the boys that they like. I believe Simba had a thing for Nala and Nala is very well caring for him and will pretty much go anywhere Simba will go. Simba will protect Nala from anyone, regardless of size and how dangerous the prey may be. Take the Shenzi scene for example, where Simba swiped a fore paw across her face. Typically, you can say friends will do anything for one another but in this case, since they're young, I find that young cubbies would be too scared to even defend for their friends or in this case, an attack. So in other words, Simba would even go far enough to even save Nala from something he can't even go up against. Also, during the Hakuna Matata sequence, I'm sure Simba was solely thinking about Nala day after day, besides the death of his father. Over time, when he got older, the feelings for her were too strong and love formed between the two.
