Hello..names' "ZooK". I am from the USA and I have been a fan of animation for most of my life. The Lion King holds a special place in my heart, its easily one of my most favorite films. I have not seen TLK2 or the other movie..so don't burn me too hard about that. I'll see them eventually.
There's something about animated films that really grabs my attention and heart. I guess in the case of TLK, its seeing humanity in something not human. While growing up I related to Simba a lot, maybe not so much now, but the movie left a big impact on my childhood.
I "rediscovered" the movie in a high school Zoology class. Our assignment was to watch the movie and watch the behaviors of the characters and how they related to the behavior of real life animals. I watched the movie and did my buttignment, but I felt a big "emptiness" and a bit of depression after wards. I needed to see the movie again. Over the course of a few months I became extremely..obsessed with the movie. It was like a window into my childhood, not to mention that its just a good movie to boot. Its been a good few years later and I still find myself popping in the DVD here and there to watch the movie or at least my favorite parts.
I've always kept my love of animation and TLK in particular on the down-low. My brother has kids now so I at least get to use them as an excuse to watch TLK or go see a new movie in theaters every once in a while. I dunno why I keep it a "secret", maybe its because no ones' ever asked.
At the moment I'm just in college..not really sure what I'm going to to do. Starting to feel just as confused as I did when I rediscovered TLK
Music is also a big part of my life. Joy Division, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, Defiance Ohio, Johnny and the Moon are some of my favorite bands. Maybe some of you have heard of em.
Anyways..sorry for the long post. I have this huge problem of turning 1 or 2 liners into mini-novels. Its good to meet ya all. See ya around on the boards.
