Tora smiled and meowed sweetly as he seemed to speak. She couldn't hear him, but she could read his lips. A very useful talent she picked up after pretending to be deaf during summer camp, in her younger years. She blinked slowly, not wanting to miss a second of his reaction. She knew it would be worth all her trouble when, if, he figured out who she was.
Nikki went into her favorite resturaunt, a little burger stand near the mall entrance. There were many teens and people in their twenties and thirties there. She had plenty of people to watch. Her long black hair glistened in the dim lighting of the small resturaunt, and she ordered her usual burger, no cheese, with a small cup of coffe. There were two young girls sitting at a table, giggling as they watched one man. He looked over to them, and they quickly turned away and blushed. Nikki let out a sigh, wishing she could be normal, and enjoy the relationships that come with mortality. But she can't. She's just a man-eating freak.

Raf was about to drag from the bottle of spirits again, when he stopped mid-swig, and lowered the bottle. "Did that cat just *smile* at me?" He wondered. He looked at the bottle suspiciously. He was a much harder drinker than that; even a swig of Jack Daniels wouldn't have caused him to halliucenate this soon. He stood for several moments, staring at the cat. There was something naggingly familiar about it, but he couldn't put a finger on what. The eyes vaguely resembled someone he'd once met, but he couldn't remember who. Taking several steps forward and stopping at the glass parition, he continued to ponder why he was checking out a cat, at 1:30 a.m. on the top of a 12-story building, half undressed. He thought about opening the glass screen-door to try and keep it from getting blown off the roof by the rising winds, and the moment his hand touched the door-handle, it clicked. The vampress with biblical allusions. He froze like a statue, bottle in hand, and stared at it. "Yes, fool. It's *ME*." The cat seemed to say. "Crap." He thought, taking a slow step back---toward his remaning magnum. The cat suddenly lunged, as did he; the cat for him and him for his gun.

Tora was still smiling, holding back a laugh. Humans were so predictable. The window was not open, so she had to disappear in mid air. She reappeared on the other side of the glass, still a cat. It was a fragile body, but more agile than any other that she possessed. She padded quickly over to one table in Raf's home, and rubbed against it, without thinking. Suddednly she froze, realizing what she had done. Tora frowned, and thought, "I have been in this body too long. I am starting to lose control... I have to cut this play-date short." Trying to not look foolish, she jumped up onto the table and sat. She pretended that the last few seconds did not happen. Perhaps he wouldn't make fun of her that much for her little slip, but she doubted it.

Raf reached the gun, and slid it out of it's holster, without even touching it. "I know it's you." Raf growled, aiming squarely at the cat. "Normal kitties don't houdini through rocket-proof glass." He said, edging away from the table, his bottle of El Toro all but forgotton where he'd dumped it. The contents were slowly dripping out, filling the air with the powerful odor of strong spirits; the overpowering concoction was already playing hell with the cat's nose; it seemed to be doing the cat version of sneezing and gagging.

Tora sneezed, shaking her head while she did. She then proceeded to cough up a little stomach acid on Raf's table. "Sorry about the table." She said, trying to breathe through her mouth. She couldn't change back now, she would like to have some privacy for that. Not only would that leave her unclothed, but it was very awkward to watch a cat morph into a human. Tora say the expression Raf's face when he realized that she was not talking, but using telepathy to talk to him, and chuckled a little. "I just *had* to see you again, after last night. Your just *so* much fun. But this will have to be a short play-date, as I am starting to have trouble controlling my cat instincts." she said, again using telepathy.

Raf stared disbelievingly at the cat. "You filthy blood sucker, get out of my mind!!" He threatened, snapping the safety off, for fear she was hunting for advantages, or just torture material all together. "And what do you mean "Cut it short"?" He asked suspiciously. "What is your problem?" He asked, seeing the cat having trouble "being a cat" now, whatever the freak that looked like.

Tora continued to sit, not seeming to be intimidated by the gun Raf held. The truth was, that she was terrified. She was just a good actor. Tora laughed, using telepathy again. "I thought we were past the name calling... And to answer your questions, my problem is that my brain is starting to think the way a cat does. Suddenly my brain has been shrunk, so it could fit into the cramped skull of a cat. I will have to cut or play-time short because if I stay in this form too long, I will permanently be a blood sucking cat. No one would see that coming." She started to lick and groom her paws. Tora realized what she was doing, and suddenly stopped and layed down on her paws. Maybe if she sat perfectly still, her mind wouldn't start to do things she didn't want it too.

"Then get out, and go find a mouse to suck dry...." Raf said cautiously strafing to the glass door. "Or were you intending on attacking me again?" He asked, gesturing to the now-open exit with his gun barrel, as he pulled it back.

Tora smiled, trying to fake bravery. Raf really did have a sense of humor! "I felt that we were drifting apart... I didn't want you to forget about me." She walked about the table, closely studying his home. IT was well furnished, and the table seemed to be real wood. It smelt nice, he hadn't spilled much on it. "Well... I think I may have to go now." she said finally, not moving her lips. "I'm sure I'll see you tomorrow." Tora added, winking. Then, she was gone.

Raf didn't see anything else, after the tabby dissapeared over the banister. "I should've kept her here...." He thought, a moment later. "As a vampric cat, she would've drank much less blood than a human....." Raf pondered the lost possibility, and shut the door, locking it tight, even though she'd just teleported right through it. The fact that she made it a point to mention she would meet him again unsettled him. There was something very fishy about her, not taking into account the fact that she was a pysionic vampress. Or an animangius. He stood for several minutes, scanning the roof for any sign of life. Noone else showed up, so he assumed her was clear; he tucked the magnum into his pants waist, grabbed the bottle, and hit the showers.
~Morning~
A dark shadow flitted over the roof-tops..... It came to a stop on the gargoyle on the 20-story building literally across the street. It checked the watch on it's wrist. "3:40 a.m. Sunup in 2 hours, 20 minutes... I've got plenty of time." The person thought. Standing, he sprung the whole length of the street, and plummetted 8 stories, before landing with a pronounced "TCH!!" on the yard-roof of Raf's house. He walked over, taking a key out of his sleeve and unlocked the plate-glass sliding door, letting himself in. It walked easy through the extravigantly (but minimalistically) furnished room with ease, winding and weaving through several alarm lasers in the process. Snoring came from the bed, which was his intended target.
The person walked up the bed, and leaned over the massive, sleeping form of Raf. His head drifted next to Raf's head, the fanged mouth dangerously close to Raf's neck. A loud, crisp "CLICK" sounded. The massive, quarter-sized barrel of a magnum pistol came to rest on the shadow's fore-head. "Good. I was about to wake you." The figure said, his soft, slightly deep voice revealing a male. "Yeah, the hell you were. Jezuz christ Avardinus, you gotta learn to use the doorbell.... Scared the H3LL outta me...." He said, de-uniting the hammer with an identical click, then setting it on the bed-side-table. "I'm sorry...." The vampire male said, standing back. "D'you....?" He asked, sheilding his eyes. "Nah." Raf said, kicking off the covers. He was wearing a fresh pair of pants and socks, both black still. "Someone's after me, Avaard. One of yours, I think." He said, standing up. "Ours? Do you mean my brothers, or just another vampire?" Avaardinus asked, worry evident in his voice. "Another vampire. Or, vampress, rather." Raf said, standing and stretching. "Have you eaten yet?" He asked, walking to the fridge and producing a coca-cola-can-shaped can, only it was transparent, and filled with a red, viscous liquid. "No thanks..." Avaardinus said, shaking his head. "Save it for later. I've already drank my fill; I caught some theif trying to raid a radioshack and went ahead and chowed down on him." He explained. "I can tell." Raf said, looking at the black and purple striped shirt Avaardinus was wearing. It had several jagged, blood-rimmed holes in the stomach, but underneath was marbly white skin, untouched.
"Man, I wish I could heal like that..." Raf said, setting the cannister back on the rack in the fridge. Avaardinus chuckled, amused. "You would make a great vampire. You're already a force as a human." He said, referring to Raf's considerable repetior of skills..... For a human. "Bite me, wise-ass." Raf said, after emptying a carton of milk and shutting the fridge door. "Well, I would...." Avaardinus began, grinning and extending his lengthy fangs, and chuckling silently again as Raf shuddered, upon seeing them. "I took care of that nosey CEO...." Raf said. "Oh, thank heavens. That's what I came to check on." Avaardinus gasped, relieved. "Yes.... But that's the problem. That vampress I told you about almost stopped me, Avaar." Raf said. "She knocked him out of the way, when I had him. I didn't know he was a vampire, either. I planned on accidenting him, because I thought he was human. Still, I took the general out and plugged him a good one, and turned him into ash." Raf said, sitting at the big glass-and-stone table he had, the night before. Avaar sat as well. "What business did she have with him?" Avaar asked, very concerned. "Not sure. She didn't seem to be too bothered with his passing; I suspect she might've blundered across the meeting on accident." Raf said. "Either way, she's a jumper." He said, eliciting a hiss of annoyance and worry from Avaar. "Ohhhh, this does complicate things a bit..." He said, now on alert. "She 'ported right behind me, and held me. For a minute, I thought I was a goner, until she recited a phrase from the bible, and took one of my tauruses." He said, pointing to his remaining magnum on the bed-side table, on the other end of the room where he left it. "She took one of your magnums?!" Avaar asked, in curiousity. "Yeah, she did." He said, darkly. "And god help her if I catch her...." he added. "NOBODY jacks *THIS* mexican. NOBODY." He growled.

Tora crept into the zoo unnoticed, as she did many nights. "Penlope..." she whispered, coming into view of a huge and powerful puma, its fur glistening. The puma was in her later stages of pregnancy, so she did not get up, instead she lay still. James, her mate, lay still next to her, his eyes wide open and starring back into Tora's. She teleported herself into the cage, and approached the two magnificent creatures slowly and patiently. As she neared them, she dropped to her knees and crawled up to them. When she reached the two pumas, she lay flat next to them, and starred up into the sky. The stars were fairly bright here, as there weren't many lights on at night. "A steel cage... Such a terrible thing. Animals deserve to be free, not in a prison for humans amusement." she said, sighing. She wore a dark brown long-sleeve shirt, dark jeans, and black tennis shoes. She usually dressed darkly when she went out at night. In her pocket was a golden watch, hanging from a golden chain. She had more than enough money, as she had an eternity to steal it all.
She took out her golden watch, and gasped at the time. It was late. "Well, Penelope... I must leave. It is time for dinner." she said, petting the enormous cat. In seconds she was on the roofs of her favorite hunting grounds. It was a dark street, where many people managed to wander into and get lost. Here was one now. Jennifer Star, a clerk at Star bucks. She had blond hair, pulled back into a pony tail. Jennifer was lost, on her way to her home. She was new here, and decided to walk to work today. It was so sad that she would never make it home. Poor Jennifer.
Tora liked to tease her victims a little, before killing them. She jumped across the roof tops, whispering "Jennifer..." just loud enough for the mortal to hear. Finally, she transported herself behind her, and pounced on top of the unsuspecting girl. She pinned Jennifer to the ground, and smiled, showing her huge teeth. Tora took in the fearful face her victim had, and then, she began to feed, sucking the blood out of her victim's still breathing body.
When she was done, she wiped off her mouth with a rag she carried in her back pocket. She then threw the blood stained rag to the ground next to the pale body of Jennifer Star. She glanced at her watch on more time, and realized it was much later now. "3:40?" Tora gasped, disapointed. She must get to Raf's house before dawn. She felt giddy thinking of the look on his face when he awoke to her in his room, sitting in a chair across from his bed, watching him sleep. Tora hurried off to the house of her favorite vampire/werewolf expert.
When she arrived, she was disapointed to see another vampire in his company. "He's cheating on me?" she whispered to herself, jokingly. Tora listened in on the conversation carefuly from the safety of the shadows.

".... more complicated by the fact that she is a jumper, indeed." The purple-haired vampire agreed. "A jumper, AND an animangius." Raf said. The male vampire was silent for a moment. "An animangius too!?" He asked, incredulously. "Yes, she visited me last night in the form of a Tabby cat." Raf said, nodding. "I'm not sure what to make of it, either..." The very girl-ish looking male concurred. "I'm not sure what I'll be able to turn up on her, but I'll do my best to look for info on her." He said, as Raf reached into the cabinet for an early drink. He looked at it with disgust; it was very warm, and warm anything tasted horirble. Avaardinus took the bottle, chanted a quick phrase, and then said nothing as a light blue glow flashed--- and the next moment, the sloshy liquid inside the crystal bottle was ice-cold, as was the bottle itself. "Thanks...." Raf said, accepting it gratefully, and unaware of their viewer outside. The cold barrel of the solid-silver Desert Eagle glinted in the lamp light, and the words Israelie Weapon Systems .50 Action Express ~In obscurum nos intereo~ [/i] flashed on the silvery barrel once. The yawning hole, almost equal in size as a quarter, of the barrel, came to rest square on the middle of the forehead of a vampire, beaten beyond coherence, and too dazed to do anything besides sit on his knees and drool, tried to gaze up at the human infront of him. "Useless.... All they who challenge my supremacy will meet your fate. Die." He said, to the barely conscious vampire. A deafening "BAM!!" and a very wet splatter later, the vampire decomposed instantly into ashes. The attacker, dressed in a dark blue suit, looked in disgust as the bits of vampire ichor smattered on his front turned to dust, and blew away. He put the .50 AE deagle away, and walked off into the night. "All the fool vampires in this city will learn to obey me... Obey, and worship me.... Or die."[[ Background note: Brandt grew up and found out about the existence of vampires in his home region, the bad part of L.A. The vampires there were heroin addicts, made that way by preying upon human druggies who'd passed out. Because he was ambitious, he built an "empire" there, using addict vampires as his lackeys, since they worked for crack-thickened blood only. He's gotten delusions that he is actually very good at fighting and being a hard-@$$, but they're just that, and in reality he's crap. He will of course try to conquer the vampires of New York using some of Raf's "peace-keeping" techniques, I.E: Instead of blackmailing them with the threat of revealing their existence if they attack him, he threatens to reveal their existence if they don't obey him. ]]

Tora frowned. She didn't have the acute hearing that normal vampires did, and she almost wished she was a normal vampire. Almost. She sat down, waiting impatiently for their little meeting to end, when an idea popped into her head. "Why don't I make a guest appearance?" Tora asked herself, and immediately became eager to do so. But, she wanted to surprise them... So she decided to turn to her favorite form, the tigress. Tora smiled, and made sure she was completely hidden before transforming.
After Tora had finished, she positioned herself straight across from a large window. She backed up, and then ran at the window full force. Tora lunged at the glass, and broke through it, a toothy grin on her face. "Did you miss me?" she asked Raf, still using telepathy. Her senses seemed clearer, more natural. She had spent a lot of time practicing in tiger form. Tora's beautiful coat glowed in the moonlight; she felt as strong as ever. She turned her head slightly to Avaardinus and frowned. "And who is this?" she asked, slightly jealous that he was talking to another vampire, though she expected it, as that was his line of work.

It took a moment for Raf and Avaardinus to get rid of their owl eyes, in suprise. "Holy d@mn..." Avaardinus said, taking several steps back, with Raf. "She's the one that attacked you, right?" He asked. Raf nodded. "Well, her in her human form....." He said. It was then that he realized his magnum was sitting on the stone and glass table she was about to jump on, a good way away from him. "Aw h3ll..." Raf groaned. "What is it you want?" Avaardinus asked, cautiously. "And why do you keep coming back to terrorize ME?" Raf added, quietly.

Tora smiled, feeling proud of herself as she breathed in their shocked faces. "I want nothing from you. You are weak, and I need not bother myself with weaklings as yourself." she said, bothered by the other vampire. This Raf was her project now. He was quite comical at times, and she enjoyed studying him. He was different from most humans. "It's your fault, really. If you weren't so funny to watch, I wouldn't be intruding on your so carefully planned life." Tora replied to Raf.

"What about my life is carefully planned?" Raf demanded. "The only carefully planned thing in life will be the solar eclipse--- an event so anti-vampric, YOU won't even be able to keep your eyes open!" He said, eyes darting to the calendar. "And it's only a week away, too." Raf said.

"Stupid ignorant human. Have you learned ANYTHING from your experiences with me? Nothing is ever what it seems. Am I just your average vampire? I think not..." Tora said, her angry could be seen in her stance. Her eyes were narrowed into slits.

Raf process her words for a moment. "She is saying she is much weaker than a true vampire like me, yet much more powerful than a true vampire in other instances." Avaardinus explained. "Then you're going to be unaffected by the lunar eclipse..." Raf reasoned. "And I wasn't aware I was supposed to be studying you...." Raf said, cracking that never serious smile. "Although I could get used to that idea...." He said, taking a brief moment to mentally remember the finer points..... or rather curves, to the girl. He knew she could probably read minds as well, and also probably knew what he was doing, and half expected her to lunge at him.

Tora smiled, proud to be taken for what she really was. Then she saw what he was thinking. "HEY!!" she yelled in his head, causing the thought to be pushed from his mind. "That's better..." she said afterwards. It was fun to pick on him. "And yes, you are correct...Avaardinus." Tora expected him to be surprised she knew his name, but he wasn't. He was fairly popular to normal vampires. She shook it off, and continued. "I could even be called a reverse-vampire. I get even stronger on the eclipse. In fact, I feed off of it." She laughed, happy that she was a rare breed. It wouldn't be near as fun if she was normal. "But... my hunger does get quite intense, because of all the power that runs through me on eclipses."

"Then move to alaska and feed off caribou." Raf suggested, serious again. "Raf's right. Freak/mutant vampire or no, we can't have you risking the revealing of our existance by you going nuts on the lunar eclipse." Avaardinus said, proud of his pure-bloodline. "Ouch." Raf thought, in response to Avaardinus' comment. He realized she was still probably mentally eavesdropping as well, a second too late.
