I laughed throughly enjoying myself. I hadn't had this much fun in a long time. I shot down two more mummies and then followed Raf up the rope. He did have the right idea. Climbing out of their reach would be best. Once i made it to the top i covered Lara and reluctantly Santiago as well. I shot down any of the mummies that came behind them as they to climbed the rope.

Raf pulled him onto the ledge, and handed him his own SVD back, after flicking the setting to "Auto". "Here!" He yelled. "Cover them with it until they're up the rope!" He said, donning a pistol, laying flat on his belly, and reaching down to help up Laura, and Santiago.

I nodded and continued to shot the mummies that came to attack Lara and Santiago. For a second i almost didn't shot one of the mummies that came after Santiago but thought better of it and brought it down. I didn't particularly like Santiago. I didn't think that he had a relationship with Lara but i still didn't like how close the two were. I also wondered where Santiago was from. I decided to think about it all later and concentrated on shooting the mummies.

((Chilean.))
"Reload!" Santiago called out as Ziva jumped up onto the ledge he was on and used the last of her throwing knifes to strike another mummy before it hurt her colleague.
"Tsk, tsk, forgetting rule number nine, are we?" Ziva teased as she smirked and raised an eyebrow while Santiago looked at her before shooting a mummy that was bounding up behind her.
"At least it's not number twelve!"
Lara focused on the trio of mummies approaching her and immediately pulled out a grenade.
"Fire in the hole!" She shouted as she pulled the pin and tossed it at the mummies. "GRENADE!"

I quickly reached down to pull Lara up as she threw the grenade. Once i helped her up i shielded Lara from the grenade turning my back to it and leaning over her. I heard the large boom and felt a couple pricks as bits of rock and mummy pelted me. I distinguished one prick from the rest because it hurt a lot more. I then stood up from where i had been shielding Lara and looked at my back. A large spiked rock protruded out of my back. It was about 5 inches long and i could feel three of the inches in my back. "Lara could you..." I said pointing to the rock.

[[ Swoosh. ]]
"Enough with the heroics, all of you!" Raf grunted, tearing it out in no kind way. Tossing it over the side, the smell of the fresh blood or something about it, caused the mummies to temporarily shift their attention to a possible new kill, which was actually just the bloody stone. "They're distracted. Everyone else up!" He yelled, still helping people up the rope. When the last was up, he coiled the line again, stowed it, and sat back against a low stone in relief. "That was too close. If I had not been up on this ridge, you would've all been surrounded." He said, chuckling. "We're off to a magnificent start, though." He grunted, ignoring terry, who was rolling around screaming. "You stepped on my back and head pulling that cowboy-*** stunt, jack***." Raf growled. "What is your problem?" He demanded.

(Hey now terry isn't rolling around screaming. He's just asking lara to pull the rock shard out of his back)

[[ I apologize. Still, we need to keep the thread moving; the last 5 posts have been made in a timeperiod almost greater than a week; it seemed too fun to let die.... Besides. You and I were on the ledge-top, and she below throwing a grenade. I find it miraculous you would need to sheild her from a grenade tossed well away from us.
Still, I apologize. I only meant it to be a possibe discovery toward creating future distractions/weaknesses against the guardian hoard. We can't keep fighting immortal hoards of ant-like mummies without anything to help us, I think. ]]

"Count on you to get injured, Terry," Lara replied sarcastically as she pulled the shard out of Sheridan's back before looking at the wound. "That looks nasty." She said as she opened her bag and dug around for the first aid kid.
Ziva sighed as she walked up to Raf's rope and began to climb followed by Santiago.
"He had better not be like this the entire trip," Ziva muttered quietly as Santiago chuckled.
"Just leave him be and he'll be fine," Santiago replied as he climbed before watching as Ziva reached the top and walked to a semi-isolated area away from the others. Santiago followed and opened his mouth to speak.
"I'll be fine. Just gotta get used to working with a team."

I didn't flinch as Lara pulled out the rock shard but i had to admit it did hurt. "Why don't you kiss it to make it better" I said sarcastically and waited for her to do whatever she was going to do. I didn't mind her touching me. I actually kind of enjoyed it.

Raf left the clearing and dissapeared once more into the thick jungle, saying nothing else and beginning to look for a possible trail/path out of the region.

Lara sighed in disgust and rolled her eyes as she looked to Santiago. "Marquez, patch Terry up," She ordered as Santiago looked from Lara to Sheridan, a look of disgust on his face. He obviously didn't want to complete his task and was about to pass it on to Ziva when the Mossad operative walked off and began to explore the outside of the ruins.
"Looks like I have no choice," Santiago replied with a sigh as he grabbed a first aid kit out of his backpack and walked over to Sheridan. "Alright. Shirt? Off."

The rest-stop was long behind Raf, as was Laura and Santiago. The thick jungle underbrush was gnarrly enough that progression was literally slowed to only a few feet every 10 minutes. Still, as if by magic, or some ulterior force he hadn't seen yet, the thick underbrush gave way as absolutely as black ink on white paper. He was standing at the base of a much older mayan pyramid, which showed obvious signs of wear and time. Half of it had crumbled and imploded, and the stairs, as tiny as they were, were crumpled and covered in indigenous lichens. Raf was about to take his first step onto the first stair, when he stopped. His boot hung in mid-air; he recognise the piles of bones around him, to be human. Many lay in piles vaguely resembling human beings, most half-protruded from the moist jungle ground. Guardians. These however, had not been awakened yet.... And they were here for a reason. No doubt what was inside this pyramid was important, and it may have not been a containing center at all; it may well have been the entrance to some odd underground network, if the mayans even did that, which he was fairly certain they did not.
The secrets the pyramid held were tantillizing, but Raf wasn't an idiot and knew when he was outmatched. Quickly marking down the GPS coordinates in his travel log, he put it back in his knapsack and decided to begin the journey back to the others. Laura would indeed wanna know about this one, since she knew what they were doing and he didn't. It didn't seem like the pyramid contained a staff; the guardians were inactive, after all. If it held anything of dire importance, he figured they would've ripped him apart upon entering the clearing. Rustling and voices nearby were heard after a while; he concluded it was one of their group, and quietly rustled off in their direction.

I held back my disappointment when Lara handed over the patching up job to Santiago. I let out a sigh and obediently took off my shirt. I was careful not to let it snag on the rock that stuck out of my back. I then noticed that Rafael was gone. "Hey did any of you see where Rafael went.".

Raf silently cut through the underbrush, toward the party of explorers.

"No idea," Santiago replied as he gloved up before gripping the rock and pulling it out of Sheridan's back. He then reached into the medical kit and pulled out an alcohol wipe. "This might sting." He gently used the wipe to clean out the wound before pulling out some Neosporin and applying it to the wound. Once the Neosporin was applied, Santiago pulled out a bandage and used it to dress the wound. "There you go."

I hissed a bit as Santiago pulled out the rock. The alcohol didn't hurt near as much. Once Santiago finished I looked around trying to see where Raf might have gone. I shrugged found no hints then turned to Santiago. "Thanks" I said reluctantly.
