"Kago's staying behind. You don't have to be so embarrassed about snoring either, my father says that his father sounded like a storm was rolling through at night," Kiara replied with a smile that appeared to be laced with sleepiness. She looked from Kovu to Santiago who had begun to pace in circles in the distance.
"And of course Santiago's gonna help, you remember how hard he worked to prove himself to my father. I'm sure he'd go for a week without food if daddy told him that it would help the pride." Kiara laughed, she knew that what she had just said was true. The lion kept trying to prove himself to her father over and over after being discovered lying in an unconscious state next to the water hole.
------
"Laini? That's the first time I've heard you speak. Wow!" Kago said as he turned around and looked at the cub and began to smile as he sat down. The lion cub's tail flicked around a bit as he continued to smile.
------
Santiago was growing restless. One thing that he knew for sure was that he couldn't sit still for too long without starting to pace around to keep some sort of motion running through his legs. After a few minutes of pacing he finally sat down and looked around.
"'Tani?" Santiago asked as he looked around for the lioness. Since his arrival in the Pride Lands, Santiago had befriended all of the lions and lionesses in the pride and had even given a few nicknames because he could. Right now he was hoping that Vitani had heard him and wasn't in a foul mood. If Santiago had learned anything since the rift between the Outlanders and the Pride Landers was closed, then it would be to make sure he never gets on Vitani's bad side.

Laini looked at her paws shyly. "I've be-en prac-tic-ing." She said, her personal pride growing as she looked back up. She was nervous and worried she might mess up, but it felt good to talk to someone.

~Zeh battle kontinues~
Fighting like a mad cat (no pun intended), Tourian actually ran face-first into Vitani's side, and was dazed, since it was like hitting a rock-wall. Shaking the pretty stars from his eyes, he turned to see her and ducked just in time, as her pinkie-claw cleaved 3 long bangs from his head. "Hey! Peace!! I'm on your side!!" He said, hoping she wasn't one of the die-hard rogues that frequently allied themselves with the hyeans.

Laini smiled again, very much flattered. She mentally formed the words she would say next in her mind, then said, "I'm not as good as you th-ough."

Nala noticed the hyenas numbers start to die down. They were retreating, but as slowly as they possibly could. Just a little bit longer! Good. She continued to fight side by side with Simba. They really did make a great team. She remembered when she was a cub, and Zazu told her she was going to be Simba's mate. She thought it was dumb. Now, looking at herself and Simba, she knew that there was no one in the world she would rather be with. All her hapiness was stopped suddenly, and all her senses melted away. While she had been standing there, in a trance, the hyenas had managed to knock her out, leaving her unconcious on the battle grounds.
Zazu saw a group of hyenas run straight for Nala. "Nala! The hyenas!" he screeched. She did nothing. He flew down to her, thinking he could somehow help. By the time he was there, the hyenas were already on top of her. He managed to peck at one hyena's head, but he was hit aside by a paw. He landed at Simba's feet. He yelled, "SIMBA!! NALA IS IN TROUBLE!!"

"'Tani?" Santiago called out again when the lioness didn't respond to his call the first time. He was growing a bit worried. Ever since he met Vitani he knew that she was tough. From what he had seen she could fight fairly well and could take care of herself. Despite all of the knowledge that he had gone over, he couldn't help but feel protective of her. In fact ever since joining the Pride Landers, he was always watching Vitani's back and making it a point to help her when she needed it. It wasn't until know that he was really beginning to think that he had feelings for her.
Kiara noticed Santiago's distress and nuged Kovu lightly with her elbow, "Hey, Kovu. Is it just me or does Santiago look a bit worried?"
-----
"Yeah, well you'll get there. Everybody's gotta start somewhere, right?" Kago replied in a reassuring tone.

Kovu remained stationary, watching Kiara closely as he listened to what she was saying about the snoring issue. Kovu grinned partially, "A storm? Wow, it must be really loud during nights." Kovu replied softly, glancing over at Kiara, noticing how slumberous she appeared. Not mentioning anything, Kovu felt a light nudge, making him blink numerous of times before hearing Kiara mention about Santiago. Kovu tilted his furry head aside, looking over where Santiago was sitting. It would appear that he did look distressed or troubled.
"I'll go see what's bothering him, I told him I'll be back too." Kovu said in a soft tone, beginning to pad over where Santiago was stationed. Coming to a full stop now, Kovu examined Santiago closely, noticing those shifting fore paws on the ground and those eyes wandering around aimlessly. Kovu frowned a little, taking a seat beside Santiago. "Hey Santiago, you look troubled or something, is there anything wrong? You know, you can always tell me." Kovu reassured, showing a warm smile.

Santiago snapped out of his blank stare that was brought on by his worried state. If there was one thing Santiago thought he could control it was his facial expression, but evidently he couldn't. He would like to be able to control when he did and did not show his emotions, but then again if he did that too much the others would accuse him of not having any feelings.
"Nah, it's nothing. I'm probably just overreacting," Santiago said with a chuckle. The fact that Vitani was Kovu's brother was somewhat risky territory. This wasn't because Vitani was tough and could fend for himself and he'd look like an idiot being worried about her, but rather that she was Kovu's sister. In the time that they had known each other they had established a brother-like bond with each other and he had a feeling that the lion would have his own opinions about Santiago and Vitani.

Laini couldn't remember what else she would have liked to say, and didn't like the idea of an uncomfortable silence. She made a quick decision. She padded over; gave Kago's cheek a short thank-you lick; and raced out as fast as her tiny paws would carry her. She ended up running straight past Kovu, Kiara and Santiago in her embarrassed attempt to get away.

Kovu continued on to watch Santiago closely, not really knowing what is on his mind at the moment but it would appear that he wasn't paying attention at first. Just when Kovu was about to say something else, he finally heard the other lion speak. "Overreacting? Hmm, well, if there is nothing wrong with you, I'll believe you. Just remember, if you have anything you want to say directly, you can." Kovu said in a calm tone, knowing deep down that there was something bothering Santiago deep down, however, Kovu didn't want to interfere whatever it may be. Kovu wasn't the type to be so nosy in other lions/lionesses businesses as he continued to sit there.
"I hope Vitani is doing okay. I haven't seen her at all today and I'm growing quite worried about her as well. I still haven't seen Kago either." Kovu thought out loudly, having a glance around in their current surroundings to make sure things were going okay. For the most part, it was soundless. "Santiago, I'm going to look for Kago and Vitani. Can you tell Kiara for me? She seems tired but, I'm growing quite anxious at the moment." Kovu didn't have an idea what Santiago was thinking of as he was beginning to make his way towards the middle section of the Pridelands, hoping to find anyone familiar and hopefully not run into any possible danger.

Ravenna heard fighting with hyenas. She put a paw on her daughter Trinket and sighed. Ravenna had a problem with trust. She could hardly trust anyone! She doesnt talk much, and when she does, shes the sweetest thing. She looked around at the lions and lioness. She wanted to go over and ask them if there was a way where she could stay. But with the trust issues she had, she was to afraid too.She looked at Ravenna who was a small cub for her age. She had three cubs, two were taken away, and she got to keep the one they said wouldnt make it anyways. She was tiny, yet she held her ground when needed. Trinket was strong and didnt want to be treated differently. She hated it when people treated her like she was a baby and couldnt do anything.

Vitani was rather lost in the heat of battle. Every time she engaged in a fight, her mind switched to a locked state, unable to focus on anything aside from the joy of battle. She continued to unleash her well trained fighting skills upon the group of hyenas in front of her.
If only everyday was filled with this much action in these boring lands. Vitani thought to herself as her ears suddenly picked up the sound of a familiar voice, calling out to her.
"Santiago? Is that..." Vitani started to say as she continued to slash wildly about her, her attention suddenly lost with hearing the familiar voice calling out to her again.
Vitani's paw connected with something that felt foreign to her, not being the hide of a hyena. She gasped and snapped back to reality, looking forward and spotting a large, male leopard in her path.
"What, who are you?" Vitani growled, rather irritated from the unexpected stranger standing in her way.
She gave him a close look over. Vitani was used to seeing other big cats within The Pride Lands, but she prided herself on knowing almost every creature within the lands. This leopard, however didn't look like a regular of The Pride Lands, still though, from what he spoke, she could tell he was no foe of hers.
"Forget it, this is no time for introductions anyways. Sorry for striking you, but I was a bit caught up in the fight. Please step aside so I can get rid of these thorn in the side hyenas." Vitani stated in a firm, but friendly tone.
Vitani knew that Santiago was somewhere nearby. She did her best to fend off the opposing hyenas as she looked around for any sign of her long time friend, Santiago. She had grown close to him, ever since he arrived in The Pride Lands, seeing as they both had been strangers to this land, at some poin in their lives.

"Kago's in the cave. How about you stay with Kiara and your son and I'll look for Vitani?" Santiago replied as he caught up with Kovu before falling into step with the lion. He wasn't about to wait for a response from Kovu despite how he was acting, but he wanted to find Vitani on his own. It wasn't long before he jogged ahead of Kovu and noticed Tourian and Vitani. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw that Vitani was alright.
"'Tani?" Santiago called out to get her attention. Unfortunately, the shout was potentially loud enough for Kovu to hear and the last thing that Santiago wanted was for Kovu to get involved. Usually when a lioness's brother becomes protective it doesn't end well, but then again maybe Kovu was different. Either way Santiago didn't want to find out.

Laini collapsed in the shade of a large boulder, half-way up Pride Rock. She was tired and eventually fell asleep. When she woke up, only ten minutes later, she thought about what to do next.

Vitani slowly made her way over to where Santiago's voice was coming from. It was a flurry of attacking hyenas, lions and other big cats, as far as Vitani could see, but she was able to spot her old friend out of the corner of her eye.
"Hey Santiago, what do you think you're doing just sitting around. Don't tell me you're REALLY that lazy today. hehe." Vitani said playfully, as she struck a nearby hyena with a clubbing blow, sending it sailing past Santiago.
Vitani grinned at him as she took up a position next to him, keeping a close eye on the battle in front of her, which appeared to be coming to an end. She was feeling extremely pumped from all of this action. The feeling of battle always drove her spirits higher, as she had been raised to fight by her mother but that was in the past. Still though, she enjoyed everything about fighting when it came to protecting the ones she cared about.
"So, do mind filling me in on how all of this started Santiago, or are you just as lost as I am here? Who are those new-comers too? You know, the leopard and, uh, I think I saw a cheetah there, but those things are always so tough to spot." Vitani exclaimed, as she rested for a brief moment to catch her breath.
