Story: Far on the edge of known space, a small cluster of all-human planets, united under the banner of the Terran Coalition, are fighting a desperate last-ditch war againt the relentless armies of the Galactic Empire. They have fought fiercly and stubbornly, despite being severly outmatched and outgunned. Coalition troops have managed to hold off the Empire for no less than a year of hard, nonstop fighting. But now the Empire has managed to push forward, reducing the number of planets held by Terran forces to only two planets: Earth itself, and a small desert world called Draconis. On Draconis, the remainder of the Earth forces have mustered for one final stand. If Draconis falls, Earth will be overrun by the Empire. [Rules: Short and sweet here. Limit your swearing. No god modding, no uber-powerful undefeatable chars. No super ships. No commanding vast armies. {I may bring in the CIS to rescue the humans, though!}] [BTW, to answer that little question in the back of your mind, Rafiki: Yes, I was bored out of my skull when I made this. There, I said it. ]

The dull 'thwump-thwump-thwump' sound of heavy cannons and the deafening roar of artillery filled the crisp night air of the desert world Draconis. Tracers from Terran Machine Guns cut deadly paths through the sky, tearing apart every Imperial Fighter unlucky enough to be caught in their path. On the ground, M1A7 Abrams MBT's were tearing into Imperial Armour, shredding many a lumbering AT-AT and AT-ST. The distinctive BWA-THUMP!!! of Sonic booms from F22A4 Raptors was ceaseless, as the extremly nimble Terran atmospheric fighters out-manuvered and out-fought their more advanced Imperial counterparts.
On the front lines, a series of burned out towns and bunker networks, Terran soldiers, clad in ACU's and Advanced Combat Hardsuits and wielding G36 assualt rifles and Ravager Battle Rifles, were standing their ground against the hordes of gleaming white Stormtroopers. The assualt was going on it's third day now, every day the Terrans lost about a half mile of ground to the Imperial invaders. The ground was littered with countless bullet-ridden corpses and innumerable pieces of blasted wreckage.
On the front line, Corporal Ian 'Sora' O'Neill stood. He was a six-foot one-inch 'white kid' who grew up in a tough neighbourhood on the outermost Human colony. While he was only eighteen years old, the soldier had proven himself to his squadmates time and time again. So far, he had personally killed thirty Stormtroopers and a AT-ST. You could never tell what he was thinking, though, the man never took off his Advanced Combat Hardsuit, which he had scavenged from a bunker nearby his current location. "O'Neill! On your feet son, we got orders to push forward to the town of Dariz!" Master Sergeant Hartford bellowed, tromping towards the young man. He took a long draw on his cigar before he spoke again. "O'NEILL!" He roared, literally in Sora's ear. O'Neill just hopped to his feet, grabbed the Ravager battle rifle he had scavenged, then nodded his head in confirmation. The Sergeant just swore under his breath and went back to rallying the rest of the squad, leaving O'Neill in relative peace and quiet... If you could call the constant roar of far-off weapons fire peace and quiet.
O'Neill walked forward to the rest of his squad, a ragtag collection of misfits hardly worth calling Marine Infantry. There were seven of them, including Sora. They had lost two men attacking a AT-ST a few hours ago, and they lost another man when a stray energy blast from a distant AT-AT burned him into a neat pile of ashes. The squad looked around, wondering when either the Sarge would come up, or if they had gotten a new leader...

[[ Hmm. I'm bored; I think I shall HELP controll the vast and limitless Imperial forces, and Rp the utter downfall of both planets. Again. He he he. ]]
Among the bridge of a Capitol ship stood an officer, surveying the damage below through high-magnification viewscreens up on the projector. "Send in the droid TIE fighters." The officer commanded, and at once hundreds upon hundreds of fighters reminiscent of original TIE fighters began to make eath-fall. The raptor pilots might've been good, but the droids unfortunately were much faster, more agile, and therefore more deadly. It was a valiant fight, but droids, being inanimate, needed no life-support, or safety features for a live pilot. The few raptors in the sky were destroyed, and the artillery began to take heavier losses, since they could not target such faster and undeniably advance fighters.
[[ It's not being godly. Seriously; even raptors couldn't stand up to droid fighters from the galactic era. And besides. We can't all be good guys, can we? ]]

After the final Raptor went tumbling back to Terra Firma in a blazing mass of twisted metal, a series of three thousand and twenty-eight ASAM, or Advanced Surface To Air Missile, batteries went on-line. The ASAM's were given one single order: Shoot down anything airborne. Barely a moment later, hundreds upon hundreds of extremely fast and deadly missiles streaked into the sky, slamming into droid fighter after droid fighter. Countless fireballs lit the night sky as TIE after TIE burst into flames and was nearly instantly turned into shrapnel; the result of being hit by a ASAM. The few droid's lucky enough to avoid the missiles were consumed by a hail of Armor-piercing-incendiary-tracer rounds from batteries of 25MM Vulcan anti-air cannons, dug into hidden locations all over the planet's surface. After nearly thirty minutes of non-stop firing, the guns and missile batteries fell silent; for there was nothing left to kill.
On the ground, it was a different story...
"Move, move, MOVE!!!" One marine screamed, shoving his squad-mate out of the way of a AT-AT energy cannon round. The pair of Marines booked it into a trench and hit the deck, as blaster bolts and cannon rounds peppered the area around them. The first soldier peeked up above the trench, looking out over the scorched and barren terrain. Barely a second later, another energy round tore into the ground in front of the soldier, propelling superheated stones into his head much like a giant grenade. The man didn't even have time to scream as his face was torn off by the blast. The second Marine yelped and scrambled away from the nearly-decapitated body of his comrade, only to feel the cold touch of a blaster rifle in the back of his neck. He heard a Imperial Officer speak, then nothing else. He didn't even feel the bolt hit him...
O'Neill cursed under his breath as he watched from his vantage point as the Imps slaughtered the last two men in his squad. The fight to take Dariz had failed miserably after two companies of Stormtroopers and a trio of AT-AT's arrived. The seven Marines and their single Abrams hadn't stood a chance. They were mercilessly slaughtered as the ran from the Imps. Only O'Neill survived.
The Marine's lust for vengeance soon clouded his mind, and as a result he shouldered his rifle and took careful aim at the Imp officer who had ordered his comrade's execution. At half a mile away, this would be a difficult shot, even with a high-power scope and no wind. He lined up the crosshairs over the Imp's heart, then he tightened his grip on the trigger just a hair. Only a little more pressure, and the Ravager rifle would send a 50. Caliber short APHET round screaming into the officer's heart, exploding his chest and splattering the nearby Stormtroopers with his innards.

[[ Honestly, I don't either. I can already sense this was a d00med attempt before it began; with me even gently pushing the imperials in the correct direction would result in the coalition being crushed anyway. Putting things in perspective: 2 vs. 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000+ planets in the galaxy = massive failure for the coalition. Sorry, but I = out of this Rp. ]]
