Good afternoon, lions and lionesses. This is TLKN and I'm your host, rafiki the mandrill, bringing you only 100% Au natural weirdness picked fresh from the live of people with too much time on their hands.
We all know of the god of Emo (ANd famous writer of all things dark) Edgar Allan Poe, right? He was strange, but this is stranger:
For the 58th straight year, a mysterious visitor has left Poe a birthday present on Friday. Ever since 1949, a person has been making trips to Edgar Allan Poe's grave site, and leaving a half empty bottle of cognac, and three red roses at the foot of his tomb stone. In 1993, a note was left at the grave saying "The torch will be past." from the original visitor. In 1998, another note was left, saying that the man has past away, and now the tradition has been past onto his sons. Crowds have been gathering trying to get a glimpse of the mysterious person, and last year they acctually tried stopping the person. This year though, they were well behaved, and managed only to get a glimpse of the person slipping away. Poe died when he collapsed in a tavern in 1849, at the age of 40.
We all have squabbles with loved ones every once in a while, right? Check this... couple out:
Chana and Simon Taub [of new york] have had a divorce, yet neither was willing to leave the house to the other. The solution? A judge has ordered a dry wall partition put up. Chana got the top floor, along with the second floor kitchen. Simon got the first floor living room and the second floor dining room. One child stayed with daddy, while the other three got to stay with mommy.
And our final story for today:
Behold, for the world's largest wine bottle arrived in New York yesterday. Weighing in at 585 kilograms, and at 1.8 feet tall, it's cork [valued at $3,500] kept 387 normal bottles of shiraz from thirsty mouths indefinatly. The owner, who also owns his own liquor store, has gotten offers of up to $100,000 U.S.D. It arrived in New york and was the centerpiece for the "G'day USA: Austrailia themed culinary show.. The bottle it's self was made in germany, and the cork was hand carved from a tree in Portugal. Five winmakers in the bottle's home country of austrailia got together and pooled their best shiraz grape resources together to make a single 2005 vintage, calling their collective vineyard "Five virtues". This bottle beats the previous world record of 175 regular bottles of wine.
Thank you, lions and lionesses, this has been TLKN news, and I'm your host, Rafiki the mandrill, urging you to stay safe, sane, and busy [ ]. Thank you and good night.
