Hmm. Interesting question. I picked "no" though. As far as being someone over the age of "18" who likes TLK as much as I do, I'd think it would be the same for both male and female's alike when it came to people knowing about your love for TLK. It might be easier for people who have kids though, as they can always just say that they only like it because their kids do...but we know no one does that on this board right? >.> When it comes to what there is to love about TLK, I'd think it might be easier for males to love TLK (for reasons I won't delve into lol) but perhaps that's just the nature of some people's way of thinking. ^^ But over all, I'd have to say it's about equal when it all comes down to it. Both males and females, I'm sure, get their fare share of both criticisms and compliments when people find out that they have a love affair (of sorts) with TLK and I think, if you're a true TLK fan, it really doesn't matter what others think, just as long as your happy with who you are. (and with having TLK in your life, who couldn't be! hehe)

I think that at age 13-16 boys have it allitle harder than girls. Because people are under the assumption that boys have to be tough, and mature. And it seems that girls can like cute, and cuddly things and it would seem that a girl liking it at that age wouldn't raise to many eyebrows. But once boys and girls grow older it becomes equally hard. But once a boy is known as a Lion King fanatic it becomes just as easy as a girl being a Lion King Fanatic

My first instinct would be yes because of this right here people are under the assumption that boys have to be tough, and mature. And it seems that girls can like cute, and cuddly things but it has nothing to do with Age cause I got teased too right on through school. But Im not a guy so I could never really say and I always wonder when I read stuff so did you mean guys in general or just males here on the board? because on the board its not hard at all cause we all are the same

I never really understood why girls can like Girls and Guy things and not get an eyebrow raised at, but boys try and do a Girl thing and people call them Gay... I never really understood what the big difference is. So I figure that I can be in love with TLK, and even if they do make fun of me, I just ignore them... because the crap went as far as to where boys have less things to do then girls... That's JMO though...

I have a brother who kind of acts like a girl and he gets called gay every day and I have a friend whos a girl who acts fully like a guy and nothing happens to her!I stick up for my family and I never call any of them gay or gays!

I would think yes, as well. I mean, let's face it. I remember, that as much as I got teased for liking TLK, that did not stop girls in HS from wearing cartoon characters on their t-shirts. (i.e. care bears and Tinkerbell, etc.) So, while you get teased, it's generally not a big deal. Boys, however, have to maintain that "macho man" thing. I think my son would probably get teased more as a boy than my daughter would.

I'd have to say yes to this one...but I don't think there's a huge difference. I agree with what's already been said here; many girls wear Tinkerbell shirts or have Care Bears in their rooms...actually a 16-year-old girl I saw today (who I might add was president of her class last year) was wearing a Peter Pan shirt and people barely even noticed. I've found though that although there seems to be some unspoken rule of society that once a guy hits teenager-hood there's no looking back, I've worn my Hakuna Matata shirt quite a few places and I've gotten more compliments from girls than I've had put-downs. It's been a little surprising. Unfortunately there are a lot of people, girls and guys, who aren't okay with accepting people who wear different clothes...whether it's a pentagram shirt and chains, or a Simba. So I think that guys can have it harder, but it's not a constant battle.

I won't wear a TLK shirt in public, but at home my parents don't judge me (Except my Dad). At school and stuff I wear stuff like a Bart Simpson shirt. I don't stand out much. I usually try to stick with people who like Rock like me. . But I think Fangs has a point, It's not a constant battle, but it is sometimes stupid, and don't make sense. Only true men wear pink.

Yeah, Guys have it really hard. People tell me all the time that i should like an action movie.. or a comedy movie rather than this al the time just cause im a guy.. People call me gay for watching TLK. Its pretty tough, But over the years i learned not to pay attention to it, Because TLK is one of the few things that actually make me happy in life. And i do not hide the fact that i like the Lion King, Yesterday in school, some dude came up to me (cause he saw i was wearing a Cradle Of Filth shirt) and we started talking about random things, and Movies came up.. and i said, "i love the Lion King" and he just got up and walked away.. I was like.. -.- Dude, what the heck, and he said to me "You are a poser, you dress in Metal clothes and you watch P**** movies... You have issues.. Poser..." and then he walked away. I dont think that just because i listen to Dark, Heavy Metal music doesnt mean i cant watch TLK. It got me so pissed off.
And all of my true friends absolutly love the fact i love the lion king, They call me character names from the movie (usually Kovu or simba) and they notice that whenever i hear anything that has to do with the lion king my face and mood just gets brighter. =]
But i think guys have it harder... maybe even just a little bit

And out of nowhere he leaves because you said you love TLK? Jeez, it's like we need to be 10 years old to like the movie. Anyway, don't let no one bother you when they say you're a loser, poser, baby and or something else. Because in realty, I can guarantee you that THOSE people too have/watched something when they were little and still do. So they're the posers.

I think it is harder, partly because guys enforce the "macho" stereotype on each other. Although I haven't had fierce resistance like other people, I have noticed that all of the resistance, like weird looks and such have come from other guys, whereas, I haven't gotten anything like that from girls.
