When it comes to movies, we all know that the beginning of the movie can tell alot about how the rest of the movie will be. The beginning of a movie is very important so I ask, which TLK movie had the best beginning?
The Lion King was the original one that started it all. No one can deny the fact that it started it all but with every start, there has to be time taken to introduce characters and overall plot so this may have slowed the first movie down a bit in the beginning.
In The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, it pretty much jumped right into the main story with a few minor character introductions so you might have found this to be a + or -. On the plus side, it was fast paced and got right to the heart of the story but on the down side, it might have left out some much needed reminders of who each character was and their overall personalities.
In The Lion King 1/2, well it just started out funny and never stopped being funny so again, this could be a good or bad thing. If you're already familiar with all the characters (which you should be by now after 2 other movies) then it might of been great to just watch another great TLK movie but on the bad side, maybe it didn't take itself too seriously and maybe lost some of what made TLK 1 and 2 so emotionally powerful in the beginning scenes.
I think for me, I go with The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride for best beginning. I was very familiar with the characters by this time and jumping right into the storyline worked well for me. It was fast paced and kept the story moving along nicely.
