Well, I would like to see it as a musical. But having two TLK musicals on Broadway doesn't seem right. Might take away from the people seeing the first.

They probably ruined the second one being made as a musical, though. Especially since they used one of the LK2 songs in the musical anyhow.

Hmm, that does sound like a bad idea. They should have kept the same songs in it. If they were going to make a second musical about the second film then using that music would be fine, but they should ahve stayed with the original music.
Which LK2 song did they use? What part did they use it for?

"He Lives In You", which was used twice in the musical. Once as "They Live In You" when Mufasa was telling young Simba about the Kings of the past. Then again as Rafiki singing "He Lives in You" to remind Simba about his father. (Before adult Simba goes back to the Pridelands)

Yeah, I think you could make a musical of it if you wanted to, but Simba's Pride is a bit shorter and doesn't have quite as much musical content as TLK1, especially with He Lives in You being taken already. Plus since it was released directly to video and didn't win any major awards, I don't think as many "normal people" (i.e. not fans like us, lol) know or care about it, so it might not do very well...

They probably should have kept more LK1 songs in there; that would have been a better idea. Though I do love the song 'He lives in you'.

Well, all of the movie songs are in the musical. But, seeing as how it's on Broadway, they had to make a lot more songs to fill it out some.

Oh, okay, I get you now. So they had all the original songs, but had songs from the second movie too? Right, now I understand. I thought you meant that they used thosesongs instead of the original.

Keep in mind, though, the music for the musical was made before Simba's Pride, so technically they swiped the music from the musical to make Simba's Pride

That's a good point; when was the musical made then, I've only seen the films so I don't really know about the theatrical ones.

Thanks, but didn't SP come out in 1998. That would have been a year earlier.
