"Pride Rock." Taraji repeated and giggled. "Thats a nice name. You know I dreamed of this place. Are there any others around here too? In my dreams I saw a lot of lions."
"Yup, there are lots of others around here. In fact, there are so many here that I've given up on remembering everyone's names!" Jamall replied with a chuckle. "Maybe tomorrow morning I'll take you to meet King Simba, you'd like him. He's a neat lion." He said, continuing to pad along the path leading to the secondary watering hole.
Sefu visibly relaxed as Simba spoke, even sighing in relief. The panther's ears were attentively perked and rotated to catch every word and sound produced by the King, as a precaution against accidentally missing some hyper-important rule of thumb regarding behavior in the Pride.
He took note of the direction in which Simba pointed, and commited it to memory. Jamall lives that-a-way, got it. He thought, while looking off in the indicated direction. His attention immediately returned to the lion when he resumed speaking, and by the time he was finish, Sefu was having to struggle to keep a grin off his muzzle. A job with which to burn off his excess energy, a safe place to stay, a lioness to keep him company, one guaranteed meal a day, and a entire PRIDE of lions and lionesses to befriend? To the usually lonely Sefu, that sounded absolutely perfect. I will definetly have to take Simba up on that offer tomorrow, when he's not sleepy... He decided, watching the king turn and start to pad off.
"Thank you, King Simba, Sir. I think I'll come see you tomorrow and take you up on that offer." Sefu called after the lion. Now excited by the possibilities his future was presenting, Sefu turned and bolted towards Jamall's den, eager to tell his friend of the job offer.

[Well, in RP's on the forum, we've always treated Panthers as a sort of mysterious, little-seen race that almost no-one has met, rather than simple genetic FUBAR's that messed up otherwise normal felines. So it would be as if Simba had met a completly alien race, to a degree.]
Jamall broke down into laughter again as Taraji unintentionally tickled him. "Ack! No tickling, no tickling!" He mewed between laughs, scrunching up his body somewhat in response to the sensation.

[OK, I did not know that. Then it makes sense. ] Taraji stopped moving and giggled. Then she looked into the starry sky until they reached the water hole.

[Hakuna Matata, Lodrill. None of us can be expected to know everything! ] Jamall was rather glad when she stopped moving, because then he stopped laughing, which meant he could start moving again! The lion wasted no time getting to the watering hole, where he again lowered his front half to the ground so she could hop off. "I know you can't really see it at night, but the water's crystal clear, just like the other watering hole. It's fine to drink out of."

Taraji slided off his back and did a somersault that ended in the water. She started drinking while she watched the night sky in the reflection of the water.

Jamall slowly sat down and, secure in the fact that he knew nothing was nearby that could bring either him or Taraji harm, the lion directed his gaze upwards to the heavens, admiring the beautiful star-spackled sky.

"Finished..." Taraji looked up to the big lion. She yawned. The exhaustion of the long journey could not be satisfied with one day sleep. Taraji herself did not notice her exhaustion due she was to excited. "What do we do now?" she asked psyched up and her eyes sparkled as the stars in the water. She yawned again with a silent mewl.

"We go back to the den and go to sleep, little one. I'm exhausted." Jamall replied with a chuckle and a warm smile. "Well, come on, all aboard." He said, again standing and lowering his front half so that she might clamber onto his back with a minimum of effort.

"Do we really have to go to sleep?" Taraji asked a bit disappointed. "I am..." she yawned while climbing up into Jamalls mane. "... absolutely not tired." She snuggled into his mane and closed her eyes. Before she could say anything more she was already sound asleep. A cute purr came out of her muzzle. [OK I guess she will sleep the whole night. She has to get a lot of rest. She will sleep until you wake her up. (I also will be off to bed now. ]

Jamall was about to reply, when he realized she was asleep! With a sigh and silent chuckle, the lion turned and made his way back to his den.
Once there, he failed to notice the big black furball curled up in one corner of his den, mostly because said furball blended in perfectly with the shadows. Plus, Jamall's only focus was on getting some sleep. As such, the lion laid down on his sleeping pelt, carefully moved Taraji to that comfy nook between his forepaws, then laid his head down to the side of his paws as so not to smoosh her, then he closed his eyes and fell fast asleep.
[Same with Jamall and Sefu. So... Time jump to next morning! And TTYL, Lordrill. I'm leaving it up to you or KM to make the time jump, though!]

[OK, just checked the possibilities of the jump. KiarasMate said that Simba will not act before the morning in his last post if not anyone will get him. As you also do not want to act I think we can jump to the morning. I will start with a small text but as said Taraji is asleep so the first real action have to be from one of you. To bad we have not yet other cubs or so here. Might be interesting. But maybe Taraji will meet them in other RPs. ] Taraji was sound asleep as the sun rises in the morning. She has crawled into Jamalls mane in her sleep and so was shielded by Jamalls legs and his chest surrounded by his mane - nice and warm.

As the bright, warm glow of the early morning sun crept slowly into the main den at Pride Rock, Simba' slowly opened his eyes and let out a soft yawn. He had had a restful nights sleep and was ready to face the new day. Slowly and casually rising to all fours, he looked around the den. Nala was still dozing quietly, which made him smile as he leaned down to give her a soft, affectionate nuzzle before making his way to the entrance of the den. He gazed up at the clear, blue sky above, thinking to himself.
"Well, I suppose there's no use going out to look for Vitani. I think I'll just do my daily rounds, and give Jamall a quick visit to check up on that young lioness Cub. I hope he's at least gotten her to speak a bit by now."
Simba made his way easily down the slope of Pride Rock, walking at a swift, but calm pace, enjoying the cool, morning breeze that ruffled up his mane as he went. He enjoyed his morning walks, as it gave him time to reflect upon times past.
It wasn't long before he reached Jamall's den. He stopped a few paces from the entrance, listening for signs of life within. His ears were not rewarded with any such sounds however, and he was a bit hesitant about entering.
"Maybe they're still asleep?" Simba thought to himself, as he argued with the choice of poking his head inside or not.
After a moments time, he decided to stir the sleeping bunch, as he had nothing better to do. Simba approached the den entrance, taking a look inside. He scanned the inner sanctum of the den, spotting Jamall, sleeping peacefully. Simba smiled as he spotted a slight bit of movement coming from within the grown lion's mane.
"Ahh, must be the young lioness cub." Simba thought to himself as he silently made his way inside the den.
He walked up to where Jamall was curled up, being sure not to startle either his slumbering friend or the young lioness cub. Simba took a seat and let out a low cough, as to try and subtily bring attention to his presence.
"So, you're finally awake huh?" Simba said in a soft, caring tone, in the general direction of Jamall's mane, where he could see the young lioness cub was quite at home inside. "How are you feeling today?" He asked quietly.
Simba didn't want the young cub to feel uneasy around him, so he laid himself on the den floor so that he wouldn't appear to be as large as he truly was. He looked towards Jamall's mane, spotting the pair of crystal white eyes peaking out at him. Simba smiled and spoke once more.
"My name is Simba. You don't have to be scared of me. I'm a friend and I won't hurt you. I promise. I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I'm glad you started eating and it looks as though my friend Jamall has been taking excellent care of you. If you don't feel like talking to me, that's okay. I just want you to know that you're safe here and we all care about you, little one." Simba spoke again, in a soothing tone.
Simba looked around the den, which was starting to slowly fill up with the early morning light, revealing the fact that Sefu was also present. Simba chuckled to himself as he eyed the panther.
"I wonder how the conversation went between the two of them. It still seems so odd to have one of Sefu's kind in these lands, but he really does seem like a kind individual.: Simba thought to himself as he remained laying on the cozy earth.

Taraji woke up by Simba entering the den. She recognized an unknown lion getting closer. In panic she hid herself inside the mane and threw a shy glimpse through the mane. A big lion appeared and focused her with his brown eyes. Taraji crawled back into the mane and under Jamalls leg as the lion started talking to her. It took her some time to slip under the leg of Jamall due it was very heavy. She glimpsed shyly out of her hiding to the big strange lion.

Simba saw the young cub moving under Jamall's leg, causing him to pull back slightly, as he did not want to further frighten the poor cub. He sighed softly and spoke once more.
"Hey, it's okay. Don't be scared. I had a daughter once too. She's all grown up now, but I still remember the days when she was a cub, as if it were just yesterday. She was as cute as you are, young one.: Simba said in a fatherly manner, as he remained a couple of paws length back from the scared cub. He continued to speak softly to her, knowing that she would slowly grow used to his presence. "I'm sure you must be a bit nervous, seeing how all of this is so new to you, and that's okay. You can take all the time you need to adjust to this place. I am trying to find out more about where your parents might be, as I really want you to be back with them as soon as possible. I'm sure that's what you want as well, hmm?"

Taraji just stared at Simba with big crystal eyes. She did not response or say Even if she relaxed a bit she still was shy. Without taking her eyes off Simba she poked Jamall slightly. This strange lion talked about returning her to her mother. Even if Taraji really would have loved to be with her mother again she knew that this was impossible. Her mother told her so. And her father was dead. Maybe this lion want me to leave? Am I not wanted here? Tarajis hopes of having found a new home faded away and she crawled a bit deeper under Jamalls leg. I don't want to leave. she tought and hoped Jamall would wake up and tell her that she would never have to leave.

Simba watched as the young cub retreated further into Jamall's mane. He could see that his words hadn't struck the proper chord with the young lioness cub and quickly thought about what exactly could have been so bad about what he had said. It took him a few moments before he recalled the conversation he and Jamall had first had, when Simba had met with him by The Waterhole. Simba thought quickly and spoke once more in the same, soothing tone as before.
"I'm sorry if what I said upset you little one. I didn't mean to make you feel unwanted here. If your parents are...gone, and you have nowhere else to go, you are MORE than welcome to stay here. I'm sure my friend Jamall here would be happy to look after you. He wouldn't be your real father, but I know in my heart that he could act just as good as one for you."
Simba's head lowered a bit as some of the past memories of his father crept into his thoughts. He did his best not to let his emotions get in the way as he continued to speak to the anxious cub.
"I lost my father when I was very young. It hurts...even to this very day, but I know that he'll always be a part of me. He'll always be with me and not a single day doesn't go by, that I don't thank him for everything that he did for me when he was alive. Even though our time together was short, it will always be one of the best parts of my life."
Simba glanced back at the young cub, making complete eye contact with her. He felt as though, he could feel the pain and sadness within the young cub's heart, causing his own emotions to pour out as well.
"I don't know what happened with your parents, and I don't want to bring up any memories that might be unpleasant for you young one, but I'm sure both your parents loved you dearly. They too, will always be a part of you. We cannot replace your parents, but we will definitely be your Pride if you want us to. We care about everyone here and as long as you live here, you'll always have the protection, love and support from us all. Please understand this."
Simba decided it was best to end the conversation there, as he didn't want to upset the young cub any more. He got up and looked about once more. He could see that Sefu was still sleeping, as was Jamall. He noticed that most of the food that Jamall had given to the young cub was already devoured. Simba thought it best to go fetch a bit of breakfast for the young cub.
"Are you hungry at all? Here, let me go get you something to eat. I'll be right back, okay? Don't go anywhere now please." He stated, before making his way out of the den.

Taraji crouched out of Jamalls mane for a while to look after the lion. She followed him with her eyes until he left the den. Then she recognized the panther and quickly rushed under the mane again. So much new faces. So much encounters. Due Jamall did not yet wake up Taraji decided to sleep a bit more and huddled against Jamall before closing her eyes.

After a short time passed, Simba returned, carrying a hunk of antelope meat tucked gently in his jaws. He entered Jamall's den once more, placing the small hunk of meat near where Jamall was still snoozing. Simba looked down, trying to spot the young cub. His eyes gazed upon her, noticing that she was fast asleep.
"Aww, they are so cute at that age." Simba thought to himself as he slowly made his way out of the den. "I'll just let her sleep and Jamall can take care of her for now." Simba thought.
He gave one last look into Jamall's den, smiling a bit as he saw Sefu again, still sleeping.
"Yup, definitely a friend of Jamall's. They both sleep forever." Simba chuckled to himself as he made his way into the heart of The Pride Lands to do his daily activities as King.

A couple minutes after Simba deposited the chunk of antelope meat, Jamall finally decided to wake up. With a hearty yawn and a lengthy stretch, the lion announced to all those in close proximity to him that he was finally awake. After opening his eyes, the very first thing he did was look for Taraji. He couldn't spot her, and began to worry... Until he felt a familiar warmth and weight snuggled into his mane. It was without a doubt Taraji, and so the lion relaxed and sighed in relief.
The next thing he noticed was a chunk of antelope meat laying not far from him. Had one of the huntresses on the morning hunt paid him a quick visit? Or had Simba been by? Knowing his King, he was going to go with the latter option.
Finally, the dark blue eyes of the male settled upon a big black furball curled up in the darkest corner of his den. He didn't need to see the face of the panther to know who it was. Sefu Hishima, a good friend and ally. The position in which Sefu was snoozing, curled tightly into a ball with face hidden under his paws and tail tucked between his hind legs, was a dead giveaway to the identity of the napping cat.
Since he thought that Taraji was still asleep, and he knew that Sefu was, Jamall didn't move and staid silent, wanting both to get in their beauty sleep.
