Kovu scanned the area, at the things he approved of, and 'fixing' the things he didn't. One of the guards came and reoported the news to him. "The lionesses are all out hunting, sir. And a wide patrol has been sent out to monitor things beyond our border." Then the lion looked around to make sure everything was clear before he continued in a lower tone. "But sir, Sky is nowhere to be found."

"Aw, crap..." Jamall muttered, once he, like Alex, spotted Kovu's approach. He moved alongside the other male as Alex moved Amani into a corner, then he too moved to block the young lioness from Kovu's view, should he make a sudden and uninvited 'inspection' of the den, as he was prone to do to with private dens to insure that no 'fugitives from justice' or 'corrupting influences' were hidden within the homes of the more private members of the Pride.
After a moment, it seemed like he had passed them by, causing Jamall to sigh in relief. "Thank the Kings... I thought he was going to poke his nose in here." He muttered, glancing over at Alex, then at Amani. "Poor thing... Why don't you put her on the sleeping pelts in that little alcove, over there, where she'll be warm and cozy. How's that sound?"

"That sounds wonderful...." Alex sighed. "Thank you, Jamall. You and Sky have been true friends. I can't believe Kovu, of all lions! Turned on us, his friends..." Alex growled, but lifted Amani onto his back and set her down on the pelts, making sure she was comfortable. Then he walked back to Jamall. "He's crazy. I can't wait until his downfall, have you thought of anything? I sure haven't with having to worry about Amani.." Alex sighed.

"WHAT?!?" Kovu hissed at the guard, who jumped back in alarm. "S-s-sorry, sir! I... I didn't mean to. Nobody saw her leave...I-" "You let her leave the Pride Lands. Make sure Sky never returns." Kovu interrupted, too angry to yell. "If you do catch her trying to come back... kill her."
Kovu finished his walk and wound up on the top of Pride Rock, looking over the land. "Why do they keep on making me do these things?" he asked himself, shaking his head. "I have no choice but to punish such actions..."

Alex heard Kovu, and nearly had a heart attack. "Sky! She doesn't know! They'll kill her Jamall! What do we do?!?!" Alex whisper yelled. He didn't want Sky to get killed, he knew Amani would be terrifyingly devestated. There was also another reason, but he wouldn't admit that to Jamall.

"Alex, don't worry. Sky knows how to handle herself, she'll be fine." Jamall said, as much to reassure himself as it was to calm Alex. "If she doesn't think she can get back into the Pride Lands, she'll stay in the jungle, with you-know-who." He added, his voice barely a whisper, as so to prevent the possibility of Kovu or any of his lackeys hearing him and realizing that Simba and Nala had both escaped death and were alive and well, within the Jungle.
Meanwhile, Sky had bid a hasty farewell to Nala and Simba, after promising to deliver information to them about the situation at Pride Rock once a week, if she could. The young lioness tore off back to Pride Rock, leaving behind the Jungle and the former King and Queen.
It didn't take her long to return. In fact, she made record time on the journey back. Once home, she skirted around the guards patrolling the borders, just like she had when she left, and made her way back to Pride Rock. She knew that her absence had been noticed, and that she would likely be in trouble, so she decided to make a quick visit to 'His Majesty', King Kovu.
After miraculously managing to avoid Kovu's guards at Pride Rock, she managed to wind her way to the very top of that rocky spire, where she found Kovu. "Your Majesty." She said softly and respectfully, as she slowly approached him from off to his side. She had to suppress a smirk at the shock he expressed upon hearing her voice. "I apologize for my absence today. I heard a rumor that dissenters had fled to regions beyond the Outlands, and were plotting to return and attempt to overthrow you, my liege. I was furious and decided to investigate the matter without bothering to tell anyone of my absence."
She paused for a moment as she approached him, and sat down three feet off to his side, not close enough to convey that she felt herself worthy to sit with him, but not so far away to indicate that she disliked him. After she felt that he had sufficiently digested the given information, the lioness continued. "I was unable to track down the dissenters, unfortunately. They've probably fled beyond the jungle by now. Anyways, I doubt they're any real threat though. I mean, they're obviously crazy, Sire! They don't think you're a good king, after all. At least, that makes me think they're nutso."
The lioness fell silent after she spoke and gave Kovu a small but warm smile, and hoped that her words had earned his trust, or at least spared her whatever punishment he had in mind for her.

Kovu looked over at the lioness, staring into her eyes and searching for some evidence to prove she was lying. But when she did not seem to be bothered with eye contact, he nodded, and stood. "Very well. Next time, ask before you leave. I'll let the guards know." He said, smiling a little. He was glad Sky had a good reason for disobeying his orders. He liked to think of her as a follower, someone who had his back. He found the guard he had spoken to earlier ( whose name was Nyoka) that Sky was no longer under the death penalty.

"Don't worry, your Majesty, I'll come straight to you for permission before leaving again!" Sky replied cheerfully, as she rose to her paws and smiled at him. She stayed at the top of the spire while he left, and after looking around for a few minutes, she decided to meander down Pride Rock and see what there was for her to do.
She poked her nose into the main den, found nothing to do, and so headed off to other parts of Pride Rock. After a while, she decided to go see if there was anything she could do for Kovu. If she wanted to earn his trust, the best way to do it would be to do his bidding. It didn't take her long to track the King down. Once located, she waited for him to finish what he was doing, then she approached him yet again. "King Kovu? I have a question, if you could spare me the time to answer it." She said, while padding up to him.

Kovu turned when he heard Sky approaching. "And I have an answer. Go ahead." He smiled, glad to see someone who wasn't afraid to talk to him. Even some of the guards seemed a little timid around him.

"I was wondering if there was anything I could do for you, King Kovu. I find myself with no tasks of my own to complete, and so I want to help in any way I can." Sky replied, returning Kovu's smile with a warm one of her own. If he wasn't a dictator, I'd have to say that he's got a great smile... She thought, her smile brightening somewhat at the thought.

"Yes, I guess so.." Alex sighed. Amani shifted under him, and he looked to see if she was awake, she was. "You okay now?" He asked softly. "Yea." She yawned. Then stood up and stretched. "I'm gonna go see if there is something I'm gonna have to do." She sighed. Then walked out, and towards King Kovu and Sky. "Hello, your majesty." She bowed. "Is there anything I could do for you?" She asked.

Hey. Do you have room here for another? I have an original character I'd like to play, and I can pick up another canon character if needed.

"Oh. Hello Amani. Nice to see you. You haven't been avoiding me, have you? I've not seen you all day; I got worried." Kovu tilted his head to the side, expressing interest in her answer. He did feel a certain barrier between them, like she was hiding from him. He didn't like the feeling. "And there really isn't anything that is needed to be done. Oh! But I would like someone to see to Kiara, she'll need food and water. And please do talk, she must be lonely. I know I am." He sighed, his tail flicking sadly. Everybody seemed to resent him (or most) and he didn't know why. Were Simba and Nala appearing to talk the others into rebellion? If so, they'd have to be eliminated.

"Well, Amani, if you tend to Kiara, I'll stay here and keep Kovu company!" Sky said happily, padding up alongside and then turning to face Amani, a warm smile on her muzzle as she stood alongside the king.

Amani flashed a quick smile to Sky, then turned back to Kovu. "Of course I haaven't been avoiding yo, my king! I was just out dealing with, the antelope's! They've been fighting as to where they should graze. I thought I would help out. Then I came back here to take a quick nap before I would come serve to my other duties. I'll take care of Kiara. Thank you, your majesty." Amani made up a lie. She bowed, then went and caught an Gazelle for Kiara. She also got some moss, and soaked it in water for Kiara. It was an old trick she had learned from Rafiki back when they were under King Simba's rule, and Queen Nala. She brought the things to Kiara. "Kiara? You awake?" She said through the bars. She pushed the Gazelle through, along with the water. "I thought I would get you a big Gazelle, so it would hold you over until we can get you more food." Amani sighed. She wished things weren't like this.

"Your welcome, me and the others are working on a plan to get ALL of us out of here as we speak. Don't worry, if all goes well, it won't be to long before your out and we're all safe. We can't talk about this anymore, if we get caught, we'll be killed." Amani said hurriedly. "I'm sorry Kiara, you don't deserve this. The only reason your down here is because Kovu went crazy." Amani whispered the last part, then looked around to see if anyone heard her. No one did.

"I can't, we don't have a back up plan. If I break you out right now, the gaurds will know, and you'll be thrown back in here, and I'll get killed, I'm sorry, I have to go and make sure the others are okay." Amani sighed, and leaned through the bars, and licked Kiara in between the ears, a friendly goodbye. "I'll come back soon, okay? You'll be out in no time." Amani smiled sadly, then left back to Jamalls cave. Alex was gone, but Jamall was still there. "Hey Jamall, I went and saw Kiara. Is there any way we can break out?" She sighed then layed down, her paws were killing her.
