Well I bought a new (locking) computer cabinet to replace my old desk. Had to do this because my old desk was falling apart and plus because my 3 year old kept stealing my stuff on my desk. Well, we bought the new one, and my husband left it in the living room. But, he didn't take apart the old one. I kept nagging Still didn't get done. I got mad. So, one day while he was at work, I got really sick looking at the new one sitting in the middle of the floor fully assembled while the old one was still in it's spot, cleared off, ready to take apart. So, I started taking it apart. I got the hutch part on top disassembled (yay, me) and started lugging it outside. Halfway out the door, the whole thing fell apart in my hands, and crashed on my foot. My big toe took most of the impact, along with the side of my foot. Had to wait for a neighbor to get home to drive me to the hospital, because it was my driving foot. The toe was really badly black and blue and was at a strange angle. (My thought, dislocated.) Went to the hospital, got in the emergency room, got an x-ray. The doctor came in with the techinician's report (aparently, they don't actually let the doctor's see the x-rays, just read the report *grr*) The doc come strolling in the room and says "Well, it's not broken." I look at him in shock and say "You've got to be kidding, look at this!" He looks, and the poor baffled doc says "Well, this report SAYS it's not broken" But he keeps looking at my foot at all angles. "Hmm, it DOES look broken to me though, but it says it's not." By this point I'm fuming. He fiddles with my toe, and I feel it snap into place (OUCH!!!!!!). They send me home with painkillers with instructions to call if I'm still hurting in 3 days. Official diagnosis? "Pooled blood under the toenail" (WHAT?!?!) 3 days later, I'm still in pain. My regular doc looks at it, says it looks broken *laughing* and sends me back to the hospital for x rays. (The x ray was taken 1 week and 2 days after the original.) THIS xray still says no break (or at least that's how the quack techinician read it) and they say I have a bunion that needs surgery, and that's why it looked dislocated. Of course, my doc is on vacation, and I have to wait til he comes back to get a referral to the foot doctor. Finally, 4 weeks after my injury, and being forced to walk on it THE ENTIRE TIME, I see the foot doctor. He looks at it and says "That's definitely broken!" He sends for the nurse who fits me with a walking cast. They send me for a MRI this time, and sure enough, broken toe, clear as day. But, now since I walked on it for 4 weeks I damaged it worse and got tendonitis up my whole foot. (The tendon kept popping as I walked after the 3rd week.) So, I wore the cast for 4 weeks after the orginial 4 weeks of walking on it, then 6 weeks in a medical shoe, then 6 weeks of physical therapy! None of that excess stuff would have been needed if the hospital would train people to read xrays. *laughing* And that was probably far more than anyone wanted to read.

Ow, that sounds really painful. I bet your husband feels guilty now.
Lat week, I was opening a fold up table and accidentally got my fingers trapped in the middle. It hurt, but it obviously was no major thing. Then today, I dropped it on my foot. Again it hurt, bt it wasn't as heavy as a desk lol. Hope you get better soon.

Ok ,I admit I'm guilty of laughing... ;D but it wasn't at you!! "Quack technicians" is right, I guess that goes to show that even when you're a high-and-mighty medical professional with a gigantic salary, you still gotta pay attention to things... Hope you get well soon!!

My husband for the record does not feel guilty. He said "That will teach you for taking it apart by yourself." I was so mad. But, yes, my foot is almost better. The tendonitis is gone, physical therapy is complete. The toe is still sore, though.

At work attempting to break up a fight between 2 Barn Owls put my hand down to push them apert and one called Gizmo took a liking to my hand so iv got masses of cuts on my right hand and if that wasnt enough first time flying this old Blad Eagle he have down there. Well iturned pulled some chick legs out of the bag just turned around the bird wasnt on the stump.......no it had already taken off and hit me full on in the face with it's talons and if youve ever seen a Blad eagles talons they are bloody sharp so ive got 2 cuts on my left cheek (in fact on of the cuts looks just like Kovus Woo Hoo i can be like my hero)

Ouch, hope you feel better. But, yeah, it seems we're two of a kind. For me, if an injury could possibly happen, it happens to me.

I had got a bat accident on the road two days ago. Some one in traffic jam "pushed" my car a little at driver side. I was so scared, since left glass was broken! The "left" was crumped! Than I went to a car repearing senter, I lost so much time!
